Question about Acer Aspire One Netbook 8.9" Notebook

1 Answer

Before reaching the login screen, my Acer netbook (1G and 160G harddrive) keeps shutting down. A blue screen appears with programming language on it for a brief second and the computer immediately restarts. Is there a solution for this?

What OS is your laptop.

If you have the correct OS CD / DVD, you should try and boot from this.

Inserting your disk and powering up the laptop it should automatically boot from the CD / DVD.

Follow the onscreen steps, then your should at some point be presented with a repair option.

If the laptop doesnt boot off the CD / DVD please select the relevant option when booting up to

enter the BIOS.

From the BIOS change the boot order to boot from CD-ROm 1st.

Let me know how you get on.

When I start up my Acer notebook, I just get a blue screen with the windows white icon in centre and nothing happens after. Was working fine till just now

Well your system is not loading windows properly, I would suggest you to perform a system restore if it loads fine in safe mode with networking if that fails then i would suggest Last known good configuration.

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Safe Mode With Networking/Last Known good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: your PC will boot to the windows.
