Does the 'closet' have any ventilation? if not the unit could have overheated and shut down or , worse, burned up the motor. any 'electric smell to it? under the unit, should be a fan, it that stopped it will not cool. look for lint build up under the unit or around any air vents. How old is the wine cooler? can you get any info from the Wine cooler's mfg web site? www.danby.com/products/wine__beverages -

My dual zone wine cooler stopped cooling. Power is good and fan is working.

Fan is wired separately from the cooling unit. you may have a wire corrosion issue. take put the shelves, disassemble the back of the unit from the inside and observe the wiring to see if there are broken or corroded wires/connections. R/R if necessary.

sounds like you have a compressor overheating is it enough air circulation where the unit is located and check to see that the condensing coil and motor are clean too.

HOW TO STOP DUST BUILDUP IN AC CLOSET

Seal closet with caulk or mastic or foam.including top, sides, platform and around base of unit. If base is not sealed it can pull from outside of closet through door. If base is sealed but top and sides of closet are not then return air can pull from inside closet from attic or inside walls. Either will turn your door casing into a filter.

Hi,

Are you serious? You have your A/C in a closet? What were you thinking? You're lucky you're still alive. There is soooo many things wrong with this, I don't know where to begin.

GET IT OUT OF THE CLOSET, and put it in a window where it belongs. Clean your closet, Then go to the doctors and have your respritory system checked to make sure you're ok.

Hope this helps.
Randy.

Unplugged the wine cooler to move for painting. When we re-plugged it in it was not working at all. Took off the back and cleaned out any dust from the fan. All of the wires look like they are in place....

First check your breakers. Sometimes re plugging an item can cause a surge and pop the breaker. Maybe some paint might have gotten in the outlet and preventing a clean contact. If all fails, try plugging in the unit in another outlet to see if the problem lies within the outlet or the wine cooler.

Noisy when running

condenser fan blades are cover with lint or the fan motor may be going out. Clean fan blade first before doing anything else. If noise stops after cleaning the fan blades; hooray! If not you might have to replace the fan motor itself. Test and re-check before taking other step(s)

Ice is forming on the outlet holes on the face of my 4200 xlt

you should check to see if the fan at the back of the unit is operating, and you also need to check for dust build up, if the fan is working then clean and defrost the unit, try it again, make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow, if the motor is not running, replace the motor, hope that helps

Vinotemp VT-16TEDS has light on but doesn't cool

First check the grating over the fan in the back. If it is covered with dust, there won't be enough air flow and the unit won't cool. Clean the dust off and see if it cools back down. It may take a long time to cool down if it is full of wine, so I recommend taking the wine out to test if it works.
