Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

It has worked flawlessly since bought new 15-20 years ago. Just as of today, when you insert any CD, the tray closes but then reopens 3-4 seconds later. It's like the unit does not realize there is a CD in the tray.

When i switch my teacpdh300 cd player on the drawer open and when i close it, it reopens

hi,
Check the tray loading belt of your cd player. If the loading belt is over sized then this problem can occur. Normally the loading belt will become over sized after a few years of use according to the weather condition. . If so the loading tray will not go inside fully and will not engage with close sensing switch. if so the it will open automatically without any external command .Normally in all players the loading belt will be under the loading tray near the frond side of the mechanism. check the same. keep the player in eject position remove power and then try to replace the belt.
ok

I bought an HP laptop from Best Buy 3 years ago. Booklet instructions said I did not have to make recovery discs. Roxio Creator Basic was on computer when I bought it 3 years ago.. I liked program and used...

First, may I recommend Nero Burnlite 10? Nero BurnLite 10 is your solution for CD and DVD burning and copying, powered by the industry's best software. The easy-to-use interface lets you make flawless copies of music files or home videos to share, or create disc images in .iso and .nrg formats. Download it for FREE today!

If you don't like Nero, you may like CDBurnerXP. CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. Everyone, even companies, can use it for free. It does not include adware or similar malicious components. It is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008/Win7 (x86 / x64). Download it for FREE today!

You will need to contact HP to try and obtain another copy of Roxio Easy Creator Basic, if they even have it anymore. I would recommend sticking with one of the previously mentioned CD burning programs because they are more stable than Roxio, and burn better quality CDs.

DVD tray wont close

If you forced it past the position sensors, then you messed it up. Resynch the internal onboard contoller.

52-32-52 CD Internal Drive Tray Opening And Closing Problems

Hi,

Since the CD drive still reads the disc, then repairing the unit is to your advantage. Repair involves, removing the drive from the desktop and removing the 4 screws underneath. The two halves/covers could now be separated and removed. Under the tray would be a gear mechanism that slides the tray in/out. it is powered by a motor through a small rubber belt. It is likely that the belt has deformed and would require replacement. This belt is similar to those used in audio electronic equipment and therefore would normally be available from your friendly neighborhood electronics parts store.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Cd/dvd drive won't stay shut

I have the dv9000z. If I do NOT push the DVD drive tray all the way in until it CLICKS shut, then it OPENS again after 1-2 seconds. This is normal. I have found that most times when I close the DVD tray drive, I am not pushing it in far enough, because the top of the DVD tray is rubbing against the laptop's case. If I just press down VERY SLIGHTLY and push the DVD tray in, the tray will fully close and CLICK shut. This works for me. Good luck.

Tray is not opening

To open the tray this is not a perfect fix, but it will allow to use it. After the unit is powered on: 1)Hit the "Open/Close" button 2)Wait a while (you will get the timing down with practice) 3)Tap gently, yet briskly with fingertips at area in the attached pic, that the red arrow points to I think the problem is that the tray becomes unbalanced somehow. Because when a DVD is in, the drive opens fine, only when there is no disc do you have to tap on the unit.
