Water not draining

Hello Jerry;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You did not provide a model number so I can only advise in general terms.

If your hose has blown, then your pump is working. I suspect your drain hose is plugged up with soap film, broken glass .....

Clean your drain. Use gloves. You may have broken glass in the drain. If you have a filter clean that. Remove your drain hose and flush it.

If you have a dish washer that requires a special detergent, and you are using a less expensive brand, you are looking for trouble.

After you have completed the above, purchase a dishwasher cleaner and run that.

WHY DOESN'T MY FGHD2433KB NOT DRAIN

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FGHD2433KB, is not draining. Here are some suggestions that you can try.

1)If your appliance is hooked up to a garbage disposal, make sure the disposal is empty.

2)Check to make sure that the knockout plug has been removed from inside your garbage disposal.

3)The inside of your dishwasher is self-cleaning with normal use. If needed, clean around the tub gasket area with a damp cloth. The filter is self-cleaning. A glass trap located in the center of the filter is designed to collect pieces of broken glass, straws, bones and pits. To remove items in glass trap, grasp handle, lift out, empty and replace.

4)The Overfill Protector keeps your dishwasher from overfilling and is located in the left front corner of the tub. Clean this occasionally with household cleaner containing vinegar or bleach to dissolve any buildup. The Overfill Protector should move up and down freely about one inch. If it does not move, lift and clean underneath of it.

5)Check to see if drain hose is kinked.

6)Make sure cycle is complete, not in a pause.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dishwasher status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

    -Best Regards-

Dishwasher will not drain

Good Morning Gord, thank you for your post!

If your dishwasher is not draining, it could possibly have a clogged drain hose or you have a faulty drain pump. First, I recommend cleaning the glass trap that is located in the center of your dishwasher designed to collect pieces of broken straws, bones, glass, etc. The filter can be removed for cleaning by simply grasping the handle and then lifting it out. Place filter back in its location and run a complete cycle. If you continue to have water left in the sump and your dishwasher is making a grinding noise, then it is recommended to reach out to a professional to diagnose the drain motor. You can often locate a certified technician directly through the manufacturer website or in your local directory.

Best regards!

My asko dishwasher D 1716 is leaving a white film on my glasses and other dishes. I have added Jet Dry but it has not helped. Also sometimes water leaks under the handle and runs down the front of the...

Hi

The issue is with the water not draining as something might be blocking the drain pump assembly thus the water is leaking. To solve this issue you'll have to take the front lower access panel out and then clean the drain pump assembly completely, also clean the impeller and chopper assembly located at the bottom of the unit. After this is done the issue should be resolved, if not then check the float switch mechanism and make sure that is fine. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

There is always water left in the drain at the bottom of the dishwasher, which gets sprayed back on the dishes so now my glasses have material on them and it gets baked on in the dry cycle....

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Specks of "sand-like" food on my dishes; water not draining

I bought a replacement filter and that dramatically cut down on the amount of "specs." Now there are only a few in some of the glasses. I also cleaned out the drain underneath the screen, there were peas and corn in there, I just used a shop vac to **** them out. Seems to be much better now, I think a good inside cleaning of the washer will help out too. Hope this helps...

GE Profile Dishwasher (5 years old); Leaving residue on dishes

In my case the counter mounted breather for the drain tube was being restricted ... finally to the point it would not drain the tub at all. I disassembled the above counter drain assembly and cleaned it out as it wass completely blocked and things work very well again. I would suggest this foirst as it is an easy task and is done 'above the counter'.
I then ran 2 cups of CLR with wash cycle ... no dishes to clean out the rest of the washer as on dissaembly of the internals to diagnose they were and very scummed up with a hard white crusty substance that was completely blocking some of the drain sump performations.
