Quickest way is to restart the whole router

Step 1. Locate the restart button, press and hold for 10 seconds(you may need a tooth pick or something like it ti get to the button)

Step 2 connect to routers using default wep key (usually printed on back of router or in manual)

Step 3 open web browser and type http://192.168.1.1.  This should take you to your router setting menu.

Step 4. Enter defult user name and pasword. Usually this is admin for both but check back of router of manual again if incorrect

Step 4 locate security settings and change passwords

DONE

Hello,

Is this the router password for the configuration page or the password for Wireless internet?

You can access the router configuration page by going to your gateway address, then login. To do this, open up a internet browser, type in the gateway address(usually 192.168.1.1) and login. After you login you can change the wireless password or the admin password for the router.

If you are unable to do the steps above, you can hard reset the router to see if that returns it to factory defaults, however, you will lose any of your settings and most likely have to reconfigure the router.

To do a factory reset, normally, you can press the small reset button located on the back of the router, and hold it for 10 seconds.

For further assistance, you may want to contact technical support from the company who developed the router.

Regards,
G33k

assuming you have xp and there's no admin password try the following:

2. restart your laptop and before win xp logo comes on press f8 several times until you get into a black screen with the advance start up options, if you see the xp logo, restart your computer and try again.
3. select with the arrow safe mode and press enter to start your computer in safe mode.
4. before you get into windows will be prompted to select an account, if you had an account, should see your account and an administrator account. select the administrator account to log in.
5. Once in windows under the administrator account proceed to reset your password as follows:.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type control userpasswords2, and then click OK.
  3. On the Users tab, click the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and then click Reset Password.

Forgot the log on password. need to recover the password or bypass to log on

here is one way for Windows XP

first, you have to log on as the administrator
.
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE two times, and then type the name of the administrator user account.
In the Password box, type the administrator password, and then click OK.

If the administrator password is set to a blank password, do not type a password before you click OK.

Then you have to RESET the password

Click Start, click Run, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK.

Click the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and then click Reset Password.

Type a new password in the New password box, and then type the password again in the Confirm new password box, and then click OK.

Restart the computer, and then try to log on to Windows XP again.
