Sounds to me like your defrost heating element is shot. Unplug the refrigerator. Empty out the freezer take the screws off the back panel and remove panel. Defrost the cooling coils with a hair dryer. At the bottom behind the shield you will see a glass tube. Unplug it and bring it to your local app repair shop and let them match it up because making the phone call with your make and model doesnt always work but bring those numbers with you as well. There was some models made with single heating elements that had to work twice as hard to get the defrost job done so they burned out more often. Your repair store will probably have a new dual tube for ya. Hope this helps. Almost forgot..Make a temporary plug with a paper towel and stick it in the water drain just in case you drop a panel screw down the drain(not fun) good luck!

Refrigerator overflowing water

If the drain pan is overflowing, they are made to catch drips. But if you overfill the glasses a few times a day the pan will overflow because there is no drain for the pan. You have to soak it up with a sponge if this is the case. If its leaking then there is a solenoid in the back of the refrigerator that is sticking, if so remove the solenoid valve wire connectors, the water lines and the solenoid valve water control valve and replace. Local appliance dealer should have one for about $60.00 or so. They make a universal solenoid water valve that fits most refrigerators. Good luck I hope this solves your problem. Water is dripping into pan under fridge and overflowing onto floor. looks like water is dripping from filter at bottom. what can i do?

Check to see looks like the container is already full. You have to remove the tray full of water and then insert it again. It will happen again and again ( overflowing water) so you need to periodically check the container pan if water is full.
Also by checking periodically that pan, you will minimize rust build up. You will need to wipe around it with soft cloth or rags so the body of your refrigerator will not decaying due to rust built up. This will destroy the metal parts of the fridge.
Good luck.

Drain pan over flowing

The rubber seal on the water filter is bad . Replace the filter in the bottom kick plate . When the filter goes bad , water will drip into the drain pan , causing it to overflow .

Refrigerator is leaking on the ground

Assuming you are talking about water leaking, if it has a drip pan to catch condensation, it may be full and overflowing or missing a drip pan allowing water to fall to floor. If it has an icemaker and/or cold water dispensor, it could be a connection leak.

Water is steadily running/drippin into the drip pan...overflowing

The frirgerator has a defrost when it defrost it has to go somewhere check the drip pan and make sure it is not full.

If this continues then try checking the water line coming into the back and up the back of frig. try that first

Refrigerator leaking water

There is normally a small shutoff valve installed in the water line servicing the ice maker; you might shut off the flow of water until you locate the problem.

Most drip pans can be slid out but it would be wise to lower the level with sponges or similar to avoid any more spillage than you already have.

If the 'knob' is centered it is probably the release knob for the grill, behind which is of course the drip pan.

Before damning the ice maker (although they are among the most unreliable devices known to man), I would pull the fridge out and examine the fitting where the water line is attached.
Any lime buildup or green corrosion around the fitting would imply that the leak is external to the cabinet and the leaked water is only accidentally making it to the drip pan.

If you haven't been getting blocks of ice in the cube storage bin, the shutoff valve is apparently working so you may get lucky locating the source of the leak.
