Most covers hold themselves in place. You may have to pry it a little harder. It could have rust around the edges and will not come out easy.

Speakers stopped working. Unit seems fine except no sound.

Have you tried another set of speakers and wired directly to the unit? If yes, then the internal amp may have failed or a failsafe shunted. Try resetting the unit.

If all else fails, I recommend contacting Clarion customer support directly here:

I trust this information proves beneficial.

Look for loose or broken wiring connections. Swap front and rear speakers wires at radio and determine if problem is the radio or the speaker system.

Need replacement speaker for clarion psw160

I had the same issue. The edge of the speaker deteriorated. I sent the speaker to Orange County Speaker in Garden Grove, Ca. They will repair/re-test/and certify the speaker for $45.00. There is no direct replacement due to the bolt pattern and screw hole in the magnet.

I have a clarion m 309 radio and I'm trying to hook up a fusion FM 402 amp for a sub woofer. I had all speakers playing but, I could not control the volume of the sub with the radio. I need to know...

Amps usually receive their signal through RCA wires. Your radio should have one pair of RCA outputs on the back. (red and white) You will adjust your subwoofer volume by adjusting the gains on the amplifer (little knob next to the RCA inputs of the amp), then you can turn up the bass on your radio.

In my boat is a Clarion CMD6 head unit with two rear CMQ1620R speakers, it distorts at medium to high volume, you cant turn it up load when going.Wishing to put two new speakers in the front, cannot cut...

Best bet is to take your boat to a qualified Marine Audio dealer (generally not a boat repair shop or marina), or to a good quality Car audio store that is insured to work on boats (separete insurance usually).
When it comes to boats, you need lots of power and speakers.
First thing to do is make sure what you have is properly installed. Then determine what is "distorting" .. is it too much base, purely volume or what.
Most boats we do (wakeboard style and river boats) we do: 40-75 watts RMS per speaker 4-6 speakers in boat 1 10" or 12" sub with 200-300 watts RMS Tower speaker if requested with 75-125 Watts RMS per speaker

Disconnect all the speaker leads and then hook one speaker (a new, known to work speaker) up directly to the radio using a short (6"-12") piece of speaker wire. Does that speaker work then?

My Clarion APX480M marine amp cuts out at random

try to unplug each speaker one by one while playing it. There can be a defective speaker that grounds out at the speaker terminal or internally causing the amp to go into protection causing all the speakers to go out.

Removing grill covers of Clarion 6.5" marine speakers

Put a piece of cardboard next to the speaker to protect your boats finish. Then use a flat bladed screw driver to gently pry the grill covers off. you may need to work your way around the perimeter, with a little bit of effort it will pop off. There will be 4 screws under the grills holding the speaker to the boat which are easy to remove.
