Question about HP Deskjet 6940 InkJet Printer
An 'HP Product assistant window keeps popping up and will not close down when I try to close it. It's been happening the last three days when I've been printing alot. The second window then pops up stating that I need an installation CD to re-install something!!! What is causing this? Hp product assistant keeps trying to configure by gathering required info and then eventually says that i need the installation disk... I place my install disk for the printer into the drive and this seemed to get rid of the pop ups rather than it retrying every so often... However every time i boot up my machine again i have the same problem...!
I have problem with my hp laptop, when ever i restart the system it is asking insert the hp product assistant disc and then click ok to install, i dont have any other disc other than the one which comes along with printer. please kindly let me how to solve this........

Go to lower right to start choose run
type msconfig and hit enter
choose startup tab
go throught check box list to fine hp Product assistant (note: its actual path goes to hpqtra08.exe)
uncheck box. That worked for me on hp f2200 series all-in-one printer
