this is correct and first step ,bravo
this resets sleep and hibernate modes
that all PCs seem to hate.
they fail due to bad drivers, is the reason.
I can add more here try running the PC
with no huge battery only on AC line pack first. (you can do that to the end of time)
as old batteries, will short, even in 1 year.
ask Sony how that worked out for them, IN THE NEWS RECALLS for FIRES. there.

why post 7 years late, no calendar?

    in a time warp>?

not only that but the wordless BS video above is useless.
and invites doing the wrong things.... and causing more damage, than exists now.
take A+ class, first. learn the ropes first.
not only that the OP fixed the PC 7 years ago.

    others with HP laptops.
do the offical HP long reset yet
as stated on HP.com (real) like million times.
then run with no main huge battery next
then next test the AC power Pack.
next is fans, does the 1fan blow, air.?
it must or it will over heat fast, some in seconds and shuts down.(by DESIGN)
    History matters,...
after 5years the CCFL backlamps go dead, on all these old PC's, so that is next.
do you see data on the screen with flashlight,
yes, that means CCFL tubes dead.
CCFL are year 2000 to 2010 years mostly
if you dont know what CCFL is google it. or wiki it....
next up, no text ever on the screen , try Esc key at power on make sure BIOS works FIRST>
    not windoz.

If you have text tell the helper that first.
power on hammer ESC key (hit the key it told you every day of its life, .
"hit ESC to enter HP SETUP" see that? ever?
from here we can go deeper
and not one time jerk chips off the motherboard, ever. (wow but bs that is.)

This post is to new poster, not wanting to guess or do damage to the PC, like
    mohammed just did.

see black screenfails here. (vast reasons)

HP Elitebook 2530p switches on but no display

Hello!
Just a quick one or two at the moment. Have to locate the problem then figure the fix sooooo..

1. Please refer to the photo: Note the 'hands', one at the top right and the other at the bottom right of the screen. With the power on and the computer in the normal ready to use mode....

What I suggest you do is hold the bottom right corner firmly, keeping it relatively immovable while, at the same time, GENTLY, and NOT completely, SLOWLY start bringing the top left corner down toward the bottom right corner, actually moving the top barely an eighth of an inch, flexing just a tiny bit...

If the display flickers then, hopefully, it is a loose display cable, usually a flat one that lies under the keyboard and need only be adjusted. a tedious but very inexpensive solution.

Another quick, albeit unlikely fault to check is your battery. I know, I know, it's so obvious but I have to ask: Have you tried using the computer from a DIFFERENT wall outlet, better still, at a buds house?

Let's get these two out of the way before moving on? Let me know! I'll look into recalls, frequent problems, etc....

There is no physical switch on the Elitebook 2530p, and I can't figure out how to turn the wireless back on...

The HP2530p buttons are "touch sensitive" and are located at the along the strip that the power switch is, touch the orange light and it will change to blue (on) this is the same for the volume screen etc, blue is on, orange is off, Just touch and play

HP Elitebook 2530p power lights stays on after

are you switching off, or just closing the lid? On most laptops, closing the lid just hibernates and constantly uses power, it can be changed in the control panel power options.
