Hi, well i suspect that when the power went either out, or more likely when service was restored, the device suffered a "Power Spike, Surge, or Transient" This is an all to common thing, most people do not know how imperative it is to UNPLUG ALL electronic equipment, after the power outage, and only connect a little time AFTER re-connection to avoid any "Nasties" that will occur at the time of and soon after power is reconnected to the grid. Sensitive electronics can and will be damaged by these events as has been evidenced here.
Most likely the power supply unit is damaged, however it may indeed have gone "Deeper' into the electronics without examination one simply cannot tell.
In, my experience, over the many years, these instances i cannot recommend repair, as most often, the very damage done is of a nature that precludes repair, and demands replacement only.
A surge or spike buster device may, assist and are a worthwhile addition, and should always be used regardless on electronics connected to the Mains, however ALWAYS remove totally the connection, in future instances of power outages, to stop this from occurring again.

A "not ready" message indicates a zone that has faulted. An open door or windows will give this same message. If all the doors and windows are closed, this message will indicate that there is a break or other problem with wiring or an issue has developed with a switch or other sensor hardware.

You should check the hardware for obvious signs of damage, misalignment, etc. Visually check exposed wires to be sure none are pinched, broken, or shorted. *Most* security systems operate at very low voltages (24 volts or less), so danger from burns or shock are minimal if yours is such a low voltage system. Make adjustments, repairs or replace as needed. If uncomfortable making these repairs - or are unsure how to do it - call the installer or other reputable alarm service company or electrical contractor to do it for you.

Aside from any sensitivity adjustments, after all a false alarm caused by falling objects, pets or juicy bugs is not a false alarm..it's an environmental mismatch of sensor to the area, some motion detector false alarms are caused by circuit faults, possibly during the install, where the wire terminals were turned too hard and twisted slightly and are not as solid as the manufacturer intended. This twisted terminal mount could cause false alarms when either the power circuit or the sensor circuit loses continuity. Intermittent power (caused by weak/loose/nicked/damaged wiring, a weak terminal on the board or power supply problems could cause annoying faults that are hard to trace. Diligence and a good eye to spot these problems and correct them will help you determine the cause of false alarms.

In the case of wireless devices, troubleshooting is usually limited to spotless battery contacts, good batteries and proper placement.

Sound like u have loose Fiber Optic cables connections cables somewhere,if u tap the side of it comes back brightter.Take the unit aparts and tries reconnected all the Fiber Optic cables tightly if it work.Tries it out the unit turn it on/off 5 or 6 the backlight go up good and bright.Take hot glue gun glue all the Fiber Optic cables connections together for good.

The key for the panel is supplied from the distributor and you need to be a certified installer to open an account and buy one, A good old big flat screw driver will open the pannel as well but the lock will be useless after that LOL! (you could screw the dore shut with #6 sheet metal screws after) than you can go on the Ademco's web site to serch for the default code of your alarm panel model but if the installer changed it than you have to reset the panel to factory default and re-program it... (unless the installer activated the installers lock up) than you need the code from the last installer that serviced the panel... if not than you need to send the board to Ademco to have it unlocked or change the board for a new one... (you will still have to re-program everything from scratch...

That's what security is all about!!! $$$$

THE BEST WOULD BE CONTACTING THE LAST INSTALLER FOR SERVICE...

You have to run a system test. enter your code then press 5. If that does not work try entering your code then press 5 then 0. it all depends on system type. let system test run for about 2-5 minutes it sould reset. Ademco 6150 6150pl3 6150pl2 these identify your keypad model not system type.check your control box to identify your panel. Sould be like Ademco vista 10, 20, 20p

Hi.
Sounds like your installer dropped the ball on this one.
If the light remains red, this indicates a fault with the alarm panel circuit board.
This automatically disables the alarm siren.

The installer should have been able to fix that with a new alarm pad first thing.

It wouldn't matter if the battery is dead, because if it is plugged in instead of running off the batteries, then the a.c. current would power the siren anyways.

I can't believe that the alarm guy you had there didn't fix this for you.

If it is plugged in, it is also supposed to trickle charge the battery as well.

If it was the battery, there would be 2 long red blinks, followed by 2 short blinks.

Hopefully, you call ADT and get another service person to come get it right for you, I really wouldn't be happy if the same repair person came back.

Time to install another alarm system.Go to the power source just disconnect the battery power source,if the control panel don't acept the codes or respone to the codes anymore.If the alarm keep going off the police come out more than one,they'll give a ticket every other times they have to show up to check around.
