Best bet would be to try and contact the prior owner and ask for it! Should have left such instructions for you as part of the sale/exchange. Just try asking if it's possible to do so.

Within 30 seconds of power up press *and # simultaneously. Display should say 20, if you press *20 1234 then *99 to exit programming. Your system should be disarmed and your install code should now be 1234. You can then use this code to change the master code.

replace system battery. BAT plus a number is a low zone battery

sounds like the system battery may be low. The system batter is usually located , depending on the system, in the main box in a closet. The system battery powers the system in the event of a power outage.

multiple low battery ones in sequence , mean a remote low battery. There is usually only one reporting zone on the remote (panic). That would be why only one zone shows alarm.

If it is wireless, then one or more of the switches need a new battery. I suggest replace them all and mark the date inside the box. I assume that there is no yellow triangle showing on the alarm panel. Triangle is for no phone connection.

It should (If installed correctly) be hard wired to a fused unswitched outlet fairly local to the control panel, if that is the case remove the fuse and then the wire to the control panel.

If not you may find it is wired directly to your fuse box, a wall socket or even a ceiling rose. an electrician will easily be able to trace it's source.
An indication as to where it is wired can be obtained by switching/pulling each fuse/mcb in turn untill the control panel powers down.

You will need to add an Alarmnet wireless communicator device and subscribe to Total connect to interact with a smart phone.

No, you entered into program mode 4114800 + 21 (I think, been awhile since I've programmed one of those) and add it as a "sensor" which requires you to press and hold a button which the serial number and/or MAC address of the key fob is written into be allowed to communicate to the controller. Than reboot *99 and you're good from than on.

Check your manual there is a particular zone range for these to be added too.

I'm sure you found out by now, based on the age of this question, but just in case, that the 998PI is hardwired and does not have a battery of its own.

You don't say what kind of control panel you're trying to add this to, but I would guess a Vista 20 based on the symptoms. You cannot use a 4208U for this panel...what you need is a 4219, but even that may not work because Honeywell has changed the components without changing the part numbers, making the new expanders incompatible with older controls. You may need to upgrade to a Vista 20P.

It has been my experience that open ckt on keypad usually means that there is a problem with the wires or the connection to the keypad or control panel. if that is ok then it's the keypad or the control panel. good luck.

The main panel is not seeing the wireless devices on zones 09 and 10. recheck for the proper serial numbers in panel programming

it's a dry contact there is no positive and negitive, it doesn't matter which wire goes which terminal

FC is failure to communicate, to clear the keypad you need to get a signal to the central station where your being monitored, it will clear when the receiver acknowledges the signal

FC is for faliure to communicate. Need to check systems connection to monitoring station. Did anyone work on your phone line(s) or did you change your phone company or service? GL.
