There should be two screws on the back of the control / power supply...just connect a wire from each screw to each screw (two of them) on one of the track pieces. it the train is running the wrong way...switch the wires on just one screw set..

A gallon of paint is best saved by placing it upside down so the oxygen in the can is sealed in and the lid is on securely. If your paint is not drying, perhaps the humidity in the room is too high in which case you could use a dehumidifier to lower it. You may need to have a fan circulate the air in the room to enable faster drying. Oil paint usually does take longer to dry.

I think I would start at the library to read a couple of books on oil painting to see if you like it and secondly, to make a list of supplies you shall need to start with. The library also has videos, for example, of how to paint landscapes with lots of details so that may be a good place to start once you have your supplies or you may wish to take a class either at the university or somewhere else where you can learn basic techniques and brushes to use to get the correct finished product.

in my opinion, get a new glue gun. if the gluestick is melting the gun, I think a few bucks would be worth the fix.

My hobby is making some nice lapel pins for my collection and my friends. I make my own designs on my computer and then produce the pins with the help of the service from https://www.pinsource.com/custom-lapel-pins/soft-enamel I have to say that is a very cool and interesting hobby. I would like to recommend you to try something like that too

Sound and motion decoder are the same address. Try F8 that mutes and unmutes the sound, If that doesn't work Change CV 8 to 8, that resets the decoder to factory settings. You will have to re enter the address as the decoder reverts to address 03. If all else fails check that the speaker is wired properly, if that doesn't work you may have a bad decoder that should be under warranty.
Good luck

There is bad contact in the track connections. You can sand the track connection sites. Another method is to run another power wire to the other end of the track where the train slows down. Even better is 3 or 4 evenly spaced power wires from the transformer to the track.

try reversing your wires from the transformer to the track.
