TRY GOOGLE WITH THE MAKE AND BATTERY VOLTAGE

Drills | Answered 1 hour ago

Because it sat for 4 months your DC brush or brushes could be the problem. It might have accumulated dust and erosion in between the armature. If you have not yet bought a new one, spray it down with electronic cleaner insert the battery again and try it. It should improve some but if not, give it a light spray of WD-40, let it drip out some and then try again.

Not familiar with the Richardson but most drill presses have a slot in the quill. Pull the handle down just a little and look. You should see a vertical oval shaped slot. Obtain a "drift key" , insert and smack it with a soft faced hammer. You should be able to obtain or order the drift key through Ace Hardware or an industrial supply company.

Is Task Force the inexpensive Harbor Freight brand? If so find the nearest trash receptacle open lid and drop in! I've had chucks lock up even on so called better brands and as much as I do not like doing this find a way or a strong buddy to hold the drill down. Large Channelocks on the chuck try to snap the chuck in the CCW direction.

If you are looking to change the keyless chuck to a keyed one, give it up. I cannot get the keyless chuck off my drill and I suspect it has permanent set loctite which would require heating the shaft and chuck. Disassembly would be required to apply enough heat to break the bond. For me I cannot justify time and trouble to disassemble and reassemble the gearbox on the drill. I have found hex or triangular drill bits, hole saws, and countersink tools that will not slip in a keyless chuck but... I still do not like those darn things.

It looks as though to get the charger, you have to buy the drill as well. One of the problems of buying obscure makes.

place the head in a vise

I had a similar problem. I was going to take the charger apart but I ran into triangular socket head screws so in desperation I gently bent the 5 contact wires out from the battery socket. After slipping in the battery and plugging the charger into the wall socket, the charging light returned. The charger contacts that come into contact with the battery are easily pushed back and after a few battery insertions fail to make contact with the battery.

A repair may not last in the operating environment. You may end up having to replace the tank.

Have seen this problem with some 'none' HILTI bits which do not fit correctly into the SDS chuck.
Tends to be with larger drill bits which have a wider shank than the SDS connector, the wider shank hits the end of the drill nose which stops the end of the drill bit contacting with the internal hammer.
Solution is to purchase original bits from Hilti. If you have OEM bits and chisel it will be another problem. Hope this helps.
