Yes there is. First you should try being present the whole grooming process. If that doesn't work you should try giving your pet some sedatives from your vet. If this doesn't work either, the last resort will be to go to a vet with in house grooming and have your pet completely asleep for the whole grooming process although it is quite expensive.

Before you use one of those remember they have a power setting. Place it on low, sit on the floor , wrap it around your neck and give her a shot. Usually 2 halfs of plastic clipped together. If there's no way of realesing them the only option is to pry the apart with a flat head screwdriver. It will mark the plastic and a risk of cracking it but it can be done and may save buying a new one.

Bathe the animal in Dawn Dish Soap... Yes Dawn Dish Soap. IT kills the fleas/ticks at the time, but not used for flea/tick collar etc.
