My guess would be they have been pulled up out of the normal position. Do they still press down and sound?

if you remove the keybed and the contact strip you can then reposition them. The worry is that when they are forced up they sometimes crack the circuit board underneath.

the keys have a hook type arrangement that should stop the, lifting up.

maybe open and report back with some photos of what you find and more advice might be available.

Seems to be a common problem on this otherwise great calculator that helped me through both high school and university. I've had mine for nearly 20 years and this problem showed up a few years ago. But I remember classmates reported the same problem when it was almost new.

If replacing batteries isn't helping, the problem is most likely caused by oxidation on the springs connecting the battery holder to the main PCB. The solution is as follows:

1. Remove the metal back cover (2 screws)
2. Remove the plastic back lid by removing the black screws (leave the batteries mounted) and CAREFULLY slide the back lid to the lower end (where the EXE button is located). Do not lift while sliding until the lid easily comes off.
3. On the back side of the plastic lid, very carefully bend the the two metal connectors ~1 mm on both batteryholders to increase their tension.
4. Clean the connecting pads on the PCB and the metal springs with de-oxidizer solvent.
5. Re-assemble and your 4500P calculator should be good as new.

First of all ensure you are using the correct power adaptor and that it is providing the correct voltage and polarity.

If that is all OK try powering up whilst apply light upwards pressure to the connector ( then try with light downward pressure )

If it lights up momentarily or constantly whilst turning on the problem is probably a loose connection which will require soldering.

If nothing then either the connection has been badly damaged or the solder tracks on the pcb have failed.

If you have used the wrong voltage / polarity adaptor you may have damaged circuitry which will probably require specialist repair.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

post any responses back and we might be able to help further.

Hello,
Here is a link to Casio New Zealand. Enter the model number for your calculator (with and wihout the hyphen, I don't remember which) and download a bilingual manual. The quality of the copy is to say the least ... Well, why not let you discover it for yourself.

Bye.

Many Casio Digital camera manuals are available here: https://world.casio.com/manual/dc/ . Check the full model number since 10.1 indicates the effective number of pixels on the camera sensor. Select your preferred language and then use the drop-down menus to select the full prefix and then specific camera model. There are several Exilim 10.1 MP cameras, including the EX-Z29 and EX Z33. The current link to the Exilim EX-Z29 (North American version) manual in English is https://support.casio.com/en/manual/001/EXZ29_MF_FB_na_EN.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Um, well I had the same problem on my baby-g watch, but i fixed it so here:
- dunno if this'll work, but hold the bottom left button for a long time. never let go till you here a beeping noise. like DO NOT let go. like this is a g-shock and not a baby-g, i dunno where the mute is indicated, but u might see it somewhere. so, just do that dunno if it works as, again, i have a baby-g. good luck! :)
