This question is far to broad to answer in a forum such as this.
One has to know the cause of the jaundice to be able to give a conncise answer,

Jaundice in infants may be due to Rhesus factors
Jaundice in adults can be from carcinoma of the liver or pancreas, may also be due to excessive intakes of alcohol, hepatitis B and even starvation

Janudice can also manifest in biliary conditions and post surgical situations, and drug usage.

The preventions of these few I have mentioned require quite a few pages of writing. I suggest to get out your Miller anjd Keene nursing books and do some researcfh and don't rely on the miniscule desriptions of Wikepedia if you want to pass an exam.

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA
