HP Office Equipment & Supplies - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Hi there you can try this.
Not sure if this will work that well for you but this is what I found worked for me.
  1. Start
  2. Control panel
  3. Printers
  4. Double click your printer
  5. See the jammed jobs in there
  6. Click Printer
  7. Click Cancel All Documents
  8. Wait about a minute, should hear your printer cooperate again

If you are on Vista Home Premium, go through the following steps to clear "deleted" print jobs from the print queue.

1) Go to Control Panel
2) Select System and Maintenance
3) Select Administrative Tools
4) Double-click on Services
5) In the list of services, scroll down until you find one called "Print Spooler"
6) Right-click on "Print Spooler" and select "Restart"
7) The "deleted" jobs will disappear and any queued jobs in your print queue will print

Hope this helps. I figured it out on my own without any assistance from the paid professionals.

Cant say if it will work so come back let us know so other can use this thanks.

Hi, If you have a printer which is very slow? Sometimes it is best to remove your printer driver and reinstall it (using Control panel.) Make sure to pull out the printer cable then restart printer and your computer then reinstall cable so that the computer automatically installs printer driver for you, that usually does the trick.

Or check that the electrical contacts on your inks are not dirty? Try removing and cleaning them with Alcohol and cotton wool, also clean the electrical part inside the printer and then reinstall your inks.

If it looks like you have an ink clog, you can easily fix that with a print head cleaning kit from https://magicinkjetflush.com
Good Luck!

Try to upgrade the firmware on the printer, if that error still occurs after the firmware upgrade, you should try and use PCL driver rather than PS driver.

NVRAM Initialization:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold down CANCEL (X) and Start Copy (button just below the X button) buttons at the same time while powering on printer. *Keep these buttons press while you power on the printer*
3. Continue to hold down buttons until the printer display reads PERMANENT STORAGE INIT.
4. Release the buttons when "PERMANENT STORAGE INIT" is displayed. Printer will return to Ready automatically.

First go to the following HP Support link and DOWNLOAD the up to date drivers for your operating system

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=3177566&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=uk

Next you will need to close all programs on your PC. Also then disconnect from the internet to protect your PC during the next stage of this process. Then disable all Anti Virus, All Anti Malware and All Anti Spyware software. Then run the install application and follow the instructions carefully. This should be successful as it is known that many background programs / apps interfere with the install process. Then try printing and then reboot the PC and try printing again.

More details needed to answer this question. If you can print to network devices via WiFi, try a generic HP laserjet driver. This old printer will not support any sort of direct printing.
