Husqvarna Sewing Machines - Page 7 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Have you tried contacting support for Husqvarna at info@husqvarnaviking.com? I know I've done a pretty exhaustive search of the web by that model number and have come up with nothing, not on free or paid sites.

That would be my only suggestion, other than maybe keeping an eye on eBay. Sometimes you can find someone selling an old manual on their for a machine that's broken on them and they're not fixing.

Check the specifications on your sewing machine. Most machines have not yet been upgraded to use Windows 10.

2g is pretty big. You may try a smaller stick in case your machine has a limited amount of memory space.

This likely is related to thread tension. You might increase that adjustment a bit higher than the book settings. If that does not fix the problem, here are some additional considerations?

Hi Vina, Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue! ** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again. Hopefully that helped you out!! Happy Sewing!! Kathy

Most often reset is done by turning off machine and unplugging it for a period of time.

Check to see if the button perhaps is stuck in DOWN position.
A quick spray of WD40 with the nozzle in the gap will free it.

If the button is not stuck there may be a worn contact underneath the button, and a spray of WD CONTACT CLEANER in the same manner usually effective

Yes, my mother's machine. I am looking for parts. Can anyone advise where is the best place to get parts?

It works best with very thick fabrics when the bottom fabric moves with the feed dogs but the top fabric doesn't, ie quilts. Also, helps when sewing slick fabrics.
