If you get errors after refilling and then you clear the error! And you still get errors occuring then this is a problem with the cartridge.
1)The cartridges printhead may have burned out if it was run dry. (new cartridge is required)
2) No ink is coming out of the port hole! Try dabbing the bottom of the cartridge on tissue. Ink should appear if not then use tissue with Isopropyl alcohol and blot lightly until ink apppears.
3) If not ink appears then you may have an air bubble blocking the flow of the ink. wrap cartridge tightly in plastic wrap holing in an up right position whip downwards this will force air to the top of the cartridge and open the port on the bottom. Remove wrap and try it out.
4) If the cartridge sat empty for a period of time before refilling you are wasting your time. The ink is probably sitting at the top of the cartridge and can not migrate to the bottom, in this case it may have burned out.

In refilling of Lexmark cartridges:
Refill often and do not allow them to run dry. Running them while there is not ink in the cartridge burns the print head out and the cartridge will not work and you will get an error.
By refilling often the cartridge stays in good condition, you do not run out of ink during a print job, and the cartridge will have a prolonged life span.

1. In order to turn on your Lexmark Printer, first, navigate to Settings and then tap on Printers option. After this, press a right-click on Printer and then choose "Use Printer Online". Make sure "Use Printer Offline" mode is disabled.
2. Now, clear the previous print-jobs. Hit double click on Printer and then move to Printer menu>Cancel All Documents. It might be possible that due to a stuck print job your Lexmark printer is offline.
3. Next, turn off Lexmark Printer and then back on after a couple of minutes. Also, check all network connections and confirm that none is loose.
4. Sometimes printer drivers are responsible for creating technical problems. In that case, if your Lexmark is not getting online then reinstall the drivers. Navigate to Settings>Printer and then choose your Lexmark printer. After this, press a right-click on your printer and then select Properties. Move to the "Details" tab and check the Drivers button. You can also download the driver for your Lexmark printer from Lexmark Printer official website.
5. Reinstall Lexmark Printer. Navigate to Settings and then tap on Printers option. Next, delete the printer and reinstall it via Add Printer wizard. Go to printer's manufacturer website and download the latest printer driver for your printer.
After going through the above procedure, I hope you will succeed to make your Lexmark Printer online again. If you need additional help then drop a message here. For professional assistance, call at Lexmark Printer Technical Support Number.

When I have seen this error in the field, I have cured it by updating the firmware. Lexmark has a paper in their Knowledge Base on 900 errors:
http://support.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/knowledgebase.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:556:0:0&framed=&docid=ENUS22164&relevance=1

Go through the suggested steps to try to narrow the problem down.

But if it needs a firmware update:

http://support.lexmark.com/printerfirmware/

Use code: Isfap129 to download the package the C530dn.

Hope this helps!

900 Service RIP errors are usually a firmware failure. Upgrade to the latest firmware from Lexmark. This link is for the C52X network model:

A 900 Firmware error means that something has corrupted the code on your printer.

The easiest way to fix this is to go to www.lexmark.com > Support > Downloads and download the latest firmware for your printer.

900 errors usually point to fuser or fuser related component failure.

Please have the printer serviced.

If the 900 error occurs only when the printer is receiving information from a network or computer, contact your software/network support. If the error occurs when the printer is idle or not connected to the network or PC, there may be a printer hardware or connection problem. Sometimes a bad connection with an Internal Network Adapter/Network Card can cause the problem. The first thing to check is the base printer. To check the base printer:
  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect every cable, except for the power cord.
  2. Turn on the printer and see if the error returns.
  3. If the error does not return, try to print a test page from the Test Menu.
    1. Press Menu > to enter Menus.
Optra S series and Optra K series printers: Continue to press Menu > until you see TESTS MENU.
Optra T and Lexmark T and W series printers: Continue to press Menu > until you see UTILITIES MENU.
    2. Press Select to view the menu items. TESTS/UTILITIES MENU is now on the first line of the display.
    3. Press the Menu > button until Print Menus appears on the second line.
    4. Press Select.
    5. If the display tells you to change paper, press Select or the GO button to print.
  4. If the test page prints correctly, the printer's hardware is most likely working correctly. The source of the problem is probably outside the base printer.
  5. If the 900 error occurs again before, during, or after the printing of the test page, remove all options (internal network adapters, optional feeders, second drawer options, finisher options, additional memory, etc.) from the printer.
  6. Then turn on the printer and try to print the test page. If it still posts the 900 error, the printer may need to be serviced.
  7. If the error does not return, then the problem may be with one of the options.
IMPORTANT: If you receive an Invalid Engine Code error message when you power the printer back on, there is a problem with the printer. An Invalid Engine Code condition will cause a 900 RIP Software Error message to appear if you try to use the printer. The Invalid Engine Code error means either that your printer has lost its stored operating code for the engine board or that the printer's engine board has gone out.

Lexmark Optra... | Answered on Jul 26, 2019

These errors indicate an unrecoverable engine software
error. Replace the engine board is the only solution

Lexmark C760... | Answered on Jul 26, 2019

OK, a couple of things... Some earlier Lexmark units had code on both a RIP board (raster image
processor) and an engine board. In this case, the code would have to be reloaded into both
boards. Fortunately, this can be done even if the printer will not boot to a ready state. However, if
this has already been done sucessfuly, the problem may well not be the printer but rather something
in the data stream. To confirm this, remove any and all data cables and reboot the printer. If it comes ready and you can print all the internal pages including the network config pages, then it is likely the
problem is the data stream. One must be careful when the printer is controlled by a print server
because the end user may not have control over the print que. If a corrupt or printer incomprehensible
job is stuck in the que, the printer will go to a 900 condition as soon as the network interface
initializes. This will continue until the print que is cleared.

Hope this helps...

Sean.
