Open internal fuse or power supply failure

if all you got when you did the auto setup was 18 channels, that is because that's all the channels that your tuner could pick up in your area. There is no additional settings you can make or changes that will give you additional programs without an improved antenna system. Without knowing what kind of antenna you have there's no way to suggest an improvement.

You should have manual buttons on the tv itself to control input and volume. It appears it is defaulting to antenna channel 3 and low volume when first powered on. You can buy universal remotes to control your set.

turn it off manually on the telly or at the wall switch. Get yer self a universal remote from walmart for around $5.

You have fallen into the 'let's see if this fixes it' form of television repair. The course to become an engineer is 2 years. You need to be able to correctly diagnose boards at component level. It is far cheaper to take the television to a service technician and correctly diagnose the problem and replace the correct single part that failed. The other very real problem is that you have no way of knowing that the 'guaranteed parts' that you bought was actually working? Did you notice that is says 'no refund, no return'? Did you know that most of the boards come out of failed sets? Only techs can return faulty boards and they will tell the supplier why that board they sold is faulty.

What type of things? Like error messages? It is hard to help you without a more descriptive message. You may want to unplug the TV for 10 seconds then replug the power cord back in. If this does not work, try contacting LG for technical assistance. If you have a warranty from like BestBuy, you can contact them for help.
If you can thumbs up my answer it would be appreciated!

Do you mean that the closed captions are on? Disabling this depends on the video source. If the source is TV (OTA or cable with a coaxial cable), then you need to access the Settings icon after pressing the Home button on the remote. Then go to the Accessibility section. Locate the Closed Caption sub-menu and disable the captions. (Click the appropriate button on the remote to enter menus and change settings.)

If the source is not connected to the RF input, then you probably need to disable the captions at the source. This will depend on the source. For some satellite boxes with a main set-top box that serves a secondary TV, you'll need to disable the captions at the main set-top box. For an ADB IPTV box, press Menu on the remote. Then go to Settings with the arrow keys and press Enter. You may need a pass code from the service provider. Go to the Hardware sub-menu and enter the Audio section. Finally the captions can be disabled in this section. Check the documentation for your source.

If you mean the Voice Narration (audio description), you need to go to the Audio settings section from the Home screen or the Accessibility section (as above) depending on the TV model.

I hope this helps.
