Take it to a service technician, it is the cheapest way to repair unless you want to do the two year course.

I suspect something is wrong with the memory back up of the TV. It could be chip problem, or the power to the chip is lost due to a capacitor failure. Unless you are good at electronics it's one for the repair man.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to program to operate with the Philips Universal Remote Control.
  2. Hold down the "Code Search" button on the remote control. Release the button after the red indicator light blinks.
  3. Press the device button, such as "TV" "CLB" "VCR" or "SAT" This will make the indicator light blink off and then back on.
  4. Keep pressing the "CHAN +" button until the device changes channels. When the TV changes channels again, stop.
  5. Press the "Mute" button to save the code in memory.

Using https://www.google.com the following two methods were suggested:

First, enter 0000. If one was never set, that is the default password.

Second, if a password was set, you will need the master override .

In order, press menu 1-4-7-0

That resets the default password to 0000

Try plugging the TV into another known good outlet. If there is no change unplug the TV for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Plug it in and try to turn the TV on again. If you have the same result, you have a bad main board that needs to be replaced. If its under warranty have it repaired or exchanged. If your warranty has expired take it to your local TV repair shop. Hope this helps.
