To change that trigger switch on a Remington saw, you need to open up the two handle halves and expose the switch. The wires are just "poked" into the switch, so you can make a tool to release them. I used a 1/16" diameter short length of wire and flattened about a 1/2" of it on an anvil. Push it in next to the wire and the wire will pull out, wiggle the tool a bit and it will pull out too. Push the wires into the new switch and put it all back together.

The switch is probably a #077525S ...seen them out there for $8 to $15.

No threads, it snaps in and can be snapped out if you are careful.

1. Try a penetrating oil, like product "deep creep". WD-40 is not a penetrating oil, it is a water displacement oil. Proper penetrating oil should work. 2. Try soaking in house hold, distilled vinegar, the really cheap stuff. For a few hours, and try again.

Looks like there should be a power button below the digital readout for the temp. There are a + and a - and a power button I believe.

On the barrel there should be a letter code.

Remingtons manufactured between 1921 and 1972 have a code located on the left side of the barrel near the frame that identifies the year and month of manufacture. The following letters correspond to the months of the year, for example B=January, L= February and so on:

B - L - A - C - K - P - O - W - D - E - R - X

The following letters correspond to the year of manufacture starting in 1921 and ending in 1972:

M - N - P - R - S - T - U - W - X - Y - Z - A - B - C - D - E - F - G - H - J - K - L - MM - NN - PP - RR - SS - TT - UU - WW - XX - YY - ZZ - A - B - C - D - E - F - G - H - J - K - L - M - N - P - R - S - T - U - W

B - Jan M - 1921 C - 1934 SS - 1947 G - 1960
L - Feb N - 1922 D - 1935 TT - 1948 H - 1961
A - Mar P - 1923 E - 1936 UU - 1949 J - 1962
C - Apr R - 1924 F - 1937 WW - 1950 K - 1963
