i don't know. be very careful when working with propane.
if this happened to my freezer, i'd guess it was the thermostat. if safe and accessable, consider turning off
fuel supply. if adjustable, mark where thermost's setting is.
turn thermostat down and up or hot and cold a few times.
set the thrmostat at a few degrees lower than the mark.. restart the heater and see if tank will now provide constant hot water.

I was having the same problem untill I reallized it was my venting system. Test the water heater with no vent on top. Disconnect the vent pipe from the water heater and try turning on the hot water. the water heater needs a special adapter to vent the direct vent water heater. One other thing you can check is the gas pressure in your home. You have to have between 7 and 8 WC (water Column) for the tankless water heaters. You can call your gas supplier to find out what you have.

i think its "child lock" meaning u need to reset it somehow to clear it.

Rheem Water... | Answered on Oct 02, 2019

it is possible it needs a reset. 1. turn off the breaker to make sure there is no power to the unit 2. open the top cover and there will be a red button like this http://www.tonyhoover.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/water-heater-upper-thermostat.jpg push it. It may have a plastic cover over or around it, leave this in place it is insulation for the wiring.
close it up carefully and then turn on the power and see what happens.

any plumbing or maybe even an a/c supply should or can get it. there cheap

The 30 Amp breaker should be okay for the 5500W water heater. The Rheem Performance Plus 50 gallon water heater, XE50M09EL55U1, requires a 30A breaker for 208V and 240V electrical systems (single or 3 phase wiring). See pages 8-9 of the manual: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/e2/e20f6bed-6a61-43a8-b7d9-d9dd2dae94e1.pdf .

You should check the installation manual for your new water heater, just in case. I hope this helps.

Current time of day; system message, not an error

Have 2 of these Rheem units in my house. Both had this same error code within 30 days of each other. And my neighbor has 2 units as well - and guess what - 2 months after mine stopped working because of the code - so did theirs. It is not something that can be fixed. It is a manufacturer's defect - and it looks like Rheem has yet another class action on their hands (like the one for the RTG - 74 PVN). They need to do a recall to repace these units.

I can't find any information on that MODEL you listed in your question. It's sort of like the Rheem Air Handler models but notthing comes back. In any case you will NEED the SERIAL number, as that will tell you all you need to know about it. If you can't decipher SN, call RHEEM and they can give you the info on that unit. Sorry I could not be of more help.
