If that's what it says in the manual, that's as far as you'll get.

Hi Regina, the first thing you should do is check to make sure the water supply is turned on. Sometimes it will get shut off by mistake when someone is trying to do something else. The next problem would be the fill valve that allows water into the machine, that could be no good. Also check that the machine has power going to it, some newer installations are wired to a plug in cord like other appliances. There may be an outlet behind the machines controlled by a wall switch. Those are the most common reasons for a no water situation. Hope that helps.

Just pulled apart a Russell Hobbs Whisper Model 3090 cordless kettle which i have been using every day for a few years.
It was intermittent turning on.
I fixed that problem by bending one of the switch contacts on the inside just a little as it had burned away slightly and was only making contact sometimes.
When I put the bottom back on and tested it I noticed that the water had an electrical smell which was strange as I had never noticed it before.
I then pulled it apart again and noticed that one of the main wires from the switch to the element had the insulation melting so I replaced that wire and now there is no smell in the water.
To confirm the smell I held the old wire and insulation on a flame and that is definitely what the smell was. The smell was travelling UP the tube which takes steam down to the bimetallic strip to turn the kettle off and was contaminating the water in the kettle.

I think you would only solve this problem by cleaning the thermostat contacts, or replacing the thermostat which wouldn't be worthwhile as it's likely to be cheaper to buy a new kettle.
Besides this , just getting into the kettle needs special 3 tongue screwdriver and then a certain technique to open it up without damaging the plastic parts. Im'e afraid its a throw-away world now and its not good .
