Answered Questions & Solved Problems

There is no hack. Only a GM dealer can program the security features of their OEM radios. Just one of the many things that manufacturers have to go through to dissuade auto theft and black market parting.

Hello Ricardo, for what you comment, you would have a fault in the exit stage of your Hitachi
Test, with the equipment turned on, operate the keys of System A or System B and in doing so, you should hear, inside the amplifier, the noise produced by the relay speakers, if you do not hear it, it would indicate the fault in the exit stage
There may be a channel or both channels wrong
I suggest you look for a specialized technical service
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

I've used WD-40 myself to disperse water intrusion for non-integrated lines that carry 130vdc so I'm aware that there isn't a ground conduction or other shorting issue with the spray.
Could you have gotten spray into the distributor sensor apparatus that may be somehow confounding the sensor, keeping the low voltage signal to the coil from occurring?
Could any of the spray have gotten into any electronic components under the hood? Although non conductive, it's anyone's guess what might happen to an IC with oil on its pins and how that could affect the millivolt biases that would be present on some of those pins. If you have some components that may have gotten oil on their circuit boards, some electronic cleaner spray may help. Use safety glasses and gloves. Good luck.

Hi, Kaye you need "FIVE" things in order for a cylinder to run properly:
1. FUEL: in order to validate your not getting fuel spray some starting fluid into the air cleaner and hit the starter button, if it fires up and runs for a few seconds then you know you have a fuel delivery issue. Multi carb banks should be bench "SYNC"
2. SPARK: remove the spark plug and with it connected to the spark plug cable ground the threads to something metal you should see a bluish white spark if not you have a faulty spark plug, spark plug cable, ignition coil, condenser, CKP, ECM, sensor or the wiring in between.
3. COMPRESSION: you must have at least 80-100 PSI for most bikes, multi-cylinder engines should be within 10-15% of each other if not perform a leak down test you may have a burnt or bent valve or hole in the piston or broken rings.
4. CAM TIMING: confirm your timing marks are aligned to see if the cam chain or adjuster are worn out and the chain has skipped a couple of teeth.
5. IGNITION TIMING: on older bikes check to see if your points have not closed up, timing plate has not become loose and confirm with a timing light for proper retard and advance functions, on newer bikes where timing is controlled by an ECM and is nonadjustable check you CKP, TPS, MAP, O2, sensor or its counterpart for integrity.

The float is probably stuck on a baffle. Unfortunately, I think you will need to remove it and make sure the float moves freely.

Since the ignition switch connector is a module and not just individual wire contacts as in the 'old days', the chance of the start wire contact coming loose from the ignition switch is not likely.
Unless you can find the start wire actually damaged in the wire harness of the engine compartment, the likely cause of your fail to start with the ignition key would be burned or broken start position contacts in the ignition switch itself.
Gathering that you are probably leaving the ignition switch in the run position when you do a bypass start from under the hood, obviously the run position of the ignition switch still works.
