well thats easy , huh?
but the switch is closed , door closed.
so just short the door switch wire.

now you will exit veh, with keys in car, and sad days ,get worse.
same with head lamps left one. oops, no more warning.

You could be right in the fact the neutral safety switch may have failed, or the key switch is not going all the way into the start position.
Will it crank in neutral ?

Probably a head gasket i'd start looking for another car unless you feel like putting $500+ into this vehicle. Good luck either way.

You will need to visit an auto salvage yard.
The same top will fit from any 90-93 Geo Metro, Suzuki Swift or Pontiac Firefly.

it will fit with problem. could have put the flex plate backwards. the other thing is switch out the throttle body . the sensor are set at different RPMs and the cables. check the starter see if it needs a little adjustment

ok this is fun

you need to remove the strut lower ball joint and the trans mount then remove the motor mount from front of opisite side frame rail to allow motor to rotate
then trans will drop about 4-6 inches undo the bolts slowely arround the bell housing when all bolts out shake the bastard it will slowely slip off
remember to jack the car up high i usualy go 2 feet off the ground with swifts and geo remove the cluch cable and i believe the starter stays in place just need to undo the bolts \
this job takes about 3 hours start to finish trans drops out the botom and goes in the same way use a small jack to suport the trans untill all bolts out and dont forget to use your ball joint fork to pop the drive shafts out of the trans and btw use new fluid to replace3 your losses on the ground c
and if all else fails buy a chilton book they are a god send

Hi Have you checked if there are spark problems?
Check the sparks and see to that they are sitting correctly.
