If you have found the fuse box then you can visually identify it. If you take a new fuse you will see a small piece of metal connected in a U shape. When the metal is broken then it is bad. It may be accompanied by a slight burn mark as well.

There should be a button on the lower part of the centre console on the same line as the hazard button. It will be on the left side marked with a padlock symbol. The doors will only stay locked as long as you don't open a door to get out. This will reset the locks to the 'open' position.
If this is the button that isn't working check if the key remote works. If both don't work check the fuses and the battery in your key remote. (A common fault).

Yes it can be fixed but what to recommend first is a problem. I appreciate the information you provided but it is not enough to provide you with an accurate solution. This current fault could be caused by a number of possibilities. 02 Sensor, Camshaft Position Sensor, Fuel Pressure, Cylinder Compression, CAT, MAF, Vacuum Leak, Misfire or Other Related Ignition Failure. If the car arrived at my shop I would perform a preliminary check. Look for an Engine Light. Pull Codes and look at some live data. Look under the hood for and problems. How does the wiring look? Any strange or bad smells? How does the engine sound? How about the engine oil? Is it over due? How is the level? Preventive maintenance will adversely affect the life and performance of all vehicles. Depending on how you want to proceed. I would as you to look around and gather as much diagnostic information as you can. I can not promise that I can help you but I may be able to. You are the eyes and ears. Please write back, tell me everything that you noticed and found and I will do my best.

The gearbox adjusts when it changes gear to match the way you drive. If you are heavy footed It will change gear at a different rev level compared to a gentle driving method. Some models have a "Cheat" where you can reset the gearbox using the pedals and ignition in a set order. Unfortunately I don't.know the sequence for Peugeot gearboxes.
The 'Heavy on the Gas' idea applies to both manual and auto gearboxes.
