PO705 is Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction. PO733 is Incorrect 3rd Gear Ration Information. P1618 means that the ECU and the TCM are not communicating properly. PO705 & PO733 can be related to P1618. Check the wiring going to the transmission. Look for a pinched wire from the car being put on a rack or possibly an accident you may have had recently. If you can find no problems with the wiring or connections then it is time to see a professional transmission expert. It may just be that the transmission has an internal problem.

CODE P1618 - REQUEST FOR MIL FROM TCM CABLE FAULT BETWEEN TF80SC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE TCM AND MOTRONIC MIL LAMP. CODE PO705 - TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR SWITCH MALFUNCTION. CODE PO733 - GEAR 3 INCORRECT RATIO. CHECK OR HAVE TRANSMISSION CHECKED AT TRANSMISSION SHOP. THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR OR THE WIRING CONNECTING TO SENSOR FAULTY. TRANSMISSION GEAR 3 INCORRECT RATIO COULD BE LOW TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL. Thier shoud be a recall volvo with p1618

CODE P1618 - CABLE FAULT BETWEEN AW 50 Q2 TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND MOTRONIC 4.4 ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. YOU CAN CHECK FOR RECALLS BUT I DONT THINK THERE IS RECALL FOR YOUR PROBLEM. YOUR PROBLEM IN TRANSMISSION CABLE COULD BE LOOSE OUT OF PLACE DAMAGED OR YOU HAVE TCM ECM FAULT.

DOES MY TROTTLE have anything to do with the codes. becuase my car reves up while in park and while driving it jumps when im about to break. The vovlo dealer check, clean out the trottle, but how do I...

yes the throttle has a sensor on it that measures in volts how far down you have the gas pedal, the computer then uses this to determine how much gas to send to the engine, this is a simplified explanation but mostly correct, the test the dealer wants to do indicates a possible TPS code, correct? what is the code?

My S80 codes

the p0720 code is a common code in every car...it has to do with an issue in the transmission. what exactly i dont know how to answer that.

the other two codes are vehicle specific codes which means the manufactur made these codes specifically for this vehicle and it has something to do with the PCM-auziliary devices..

Hope that gets you started

Code p72o & p1618 &p1633 on my s80

the P720 (which i'm guessing is suppose to be a P0 or 170 means its transmission related...i dont know what the 20 stands for thats the exact specific code/problem but it gives you an idea...the two P1600 codes are Manufactur made and they are both about PCM-Auxiliary Devices..

So i'm guessing that the one that is making your car not move is the P700 code..

hope that gets you started
