Black smoke is coming from exhaust possible causes--- excess fuel enters cylinders and does not burn completely. poor fuel milage is also a common complaint, when black smoke comes out tailpipe its running to rich!! This can be caused by anything from a computer malfunction to a leaking fuel injector. A possible fix would possibly be a tune up or carburetor/fuel injection work. run some good injector cleaner in it, it may fix the problem. but if not check it out further. good-day !!

Jag X TYPE Diesel Black smoke coming from exhaust on acceleration

i had this problem and thought the fuel filter oil filter needed replacing so i have just had a service done but problem is still there but not as bad. been told it could be the AGR valve or a split pipe going to it which recuirculates unused fuel back to burn again. therefore unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust causing the black smoke. i am still looking for the answer aswell, hope this helps.

Black smoke coming out of exhaust, only on immediate acceleration. Leaves black spots on ground under exhaust pipe.

Your engine is running "too rich" meaning more gas is going into the chamber than is supposed to. If it is a late model, to need to see your mechanic. FYI , blue smoke is oil, black too much gas, white, antifreeze, (really bad).
