You may have blown the fuse..Theres usually a large fuse in the engine compartment fuses,,but also a small fuse located in the interior fuse box, thats for charging..It controls the field circuit

You need to check the charging circuit which is most important to the automatic charging of the battery to keep it in brim condition. Hence the alternator current will feed into the charging regulator which determines how much the battery needs to be charged . check this unit by tracing the alternator wiring and use a ammeter to check the battery charge current. get help if you are not equipped.

Ive been through 4 alternators on my truck it is a 1988 mitsubishi mighty max their not charging and they keep showing low output Ive checked every wire that I can see for a short and Ive found nothing I...

not sure about an external regulator, your local auto parts store could tell you that, but i think your problem is the alternator is not grounded good, find the ground wire and trace it to where it is grounded, take the ground end loose and get a piece of sandpaper and sand the metal where it is grounded , reattach securely

Ive got a 1991 Eagle talon turbo with 5 speed trans, ive replaced the battery and alternator and still wont charge?

If you know for sure that the alternator is good then use an Ohm meter to check set to DC 20 when the car is in the ON position but not running. Unplug the alternator and put the red end on the positive side of the alternator plug and touch the negative to any other metal surface. Should be the same reading as your battery is when you do the same test on the battery. If not, then the wiring is bad and needs to be replaced.

Just because something is new doesn't mean it works so if this test doesn't work, take out the alternator and have it tested.

Also check fuses!!!
