Key off, push in and hold trip odo, turn key to position 2 ( all dash board lights are now on) DONT START the car, KEEP the trip button pushed in, start the car IMEDIATELY the service light starts to flash, then release the trip odo button. Sometimes takes a couple of goes.

Guys he said service light not check engine light. To reset the service light make sure the trip odometer is in T1. Then turn the key to the first position. Depress the trip reset button and turn the key to the second position. The service light will blink in a few seconds. Release the trip button and turn the key off. When you start the car the service light should be out. You may have to do this a couple times to get your timing right so the light will reset.

Service light comes on for a minute - 93 volvo 960 wagon

You probably need to get the codes cleared on the ecu before the engine light will go off. Even after you fix the problem, the computer doesn't know that the problem has been solved until the fault codes have been cleared.

Hi, Since you have both codes Fuel system lean and MAF low I would bet money on that you have an intake air leak after the throttle. Check all hoses connected to the intake manifold, gaskets, injectors are put in place etc.

I have ust serviced my 2001 volvo s40 and now the

did the sevice light come on before you serviced it? when you "serviced" it I assume you changed the oil and now need the service light reset.
I bought the 1998 S70. it got time to change the oil. Being how I am I changed the oil myself. I had to call dealership about resetting the service light.
they said $29.96.
I said 29.95?!!! how much if YOU would have changed my oil and reset the light?
they said $29.95.
so I learned you need to access the OBDII to reset the light.after service. hope this helps.

Lambda sensor light on, code has been read by garage but non-specific apparently. Light turned off but comes back on after about a week - done this twice now. Fuel consumption unchanged. Garage says poss...

First have an exhaust shop check your flow through the catalytic converter. If you have a bad oxygen sensor with no noticable change in fuel economy or performance, it likely is the one after the Cat. This one just measure performance of the Cat. itself. The one in front of Cat is responsible for adjusting fuel mixture, so if it goes bad, you should have fuel consumption, and other symptoms. The best Volvo service is still done at your Volvo dealerships. Good luck, and thanks for posting. TT

Transmission Service Required 2001 Volvo S60 T5

These cars had a few issues with the transmissions. Sometimes upgrading the software and flushing the transmission will help, sometimes a new valve body will fix the problem, but often the transmission will need replacement due to internal failure.

The first step is to have a shop read out all the fault codes, read all the service bulletins and tech notes from Volvo regarding the transmission problems and then make a decision based on all of that information.

Good Luck,
