Question about Cadillac STS
Yes there can be, depending on which chip you get. Most chips do the same things which is advance the timing and add additional fuel to richen the mixture and adjust the injector pulse width for more output. In most vehicles the manufacture reduces the HP to meet emissions standards and increase efficiency of the car. Example a motor that makes 400 hp may be reduced to 300 for efficiency and fuel economy also for reliability and longevity. I wouldn't go with a no name chip for something as they usually don't do the research a larger company does and most name brand companies will give you the HP and still keep your motor running within normal tolerance without maxing out the vehicle and making it unsafe. Do your research and google the chips and see if any real people are using it and what they have to say. Ebay is a good company to get a deal and variety on the chip. Good luck.
