You see! On my 1998 S-10 w/ 4.3 and 5 speed + ZR-2
@ first i would turn on my left turn signal and the signals would flash real quick then when investigating the problem i discovered that my brake light on the same side doesnt work in fact when i hit the left flasher my reverse light blinks just as fast as my flashers flash which is way too fast so what i thought was a burned out bulb i now think i have a bad ground. i dont even know where the lights are supposed to be grounded. can you help? id appreciate this.
Look for chaffed wires. A bad ground will not let the bulb work at all. Look closely at the wires on the reverse light. Follow them back to where they join the harness checking for pinch points or bare wires.

change the brake light switch ,or rewire the whole lot to europeon standard where its all seperate.Stupid american idea where the brake light is used as the indicator as well.Had a few like this to import and had to rewire the whole rear back lights as their is some fancy brake light switch on these cars with a whole lot of wires .i just cut the whole bunch and rewired the lot as our regulations do not permit this type of concoction.best of british with it though as although its not difficult to do its amazing how many so called mechanics run when they more than two wires

SOURCE: Left turn signal blinks fast in rear and regular in front
the bulb is blown out. you need to change it. also if the bulb is not blown out or if the blinker still blink fast after you change the bulb then you have a ground problem. just remove that blinker light and check the ground wire on it. if you need to replace it and find a good groun on the car. you should be fine. this is all it is .

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.
