Mark drive shaft to ensure it goes back in properly. pull shaft, you may have to take it to someone to have them press it for you.

I\'ve never heard of hanger bearing. Where is it located. Are you talking about the carrier bearing. The carrier bearing is somewhat of pain if you don\'t have the right tools. If it\'s the carrier bearing your talking about you need to rent or buy a bearing puller and hopefully you have air impact but it\'s still possible without. Well let me know where this bearing is and i can help you out more.

I am not sure your car has a carrier bearing, but if it did it would be located on the drive shaft between the transmission and rear end of the car.

What is the part number for a carrier bearing on 1995 chevy camaro

(a little late in responding - but maybe someone will need this info).

If you mean the carrier bearing on the driveshaft - then you must have a v6 model. I would advise to skip replacing it and instead purchase a 1pc shaft (no carrier bearing). The cb is located near a Hi-Speed CV Joint which make changing the carrier a little difficult.
A new replacement 1pc driveshaft costs about $225.00
The carrier bearing itself may run $40-$140. ( http://www.fortwayneclutch.com/index.php/driveshaft-parts/carrier-support-bearings/gm/1993-2002-chevy-camaro-v6-pontiac-firebird-v6-carrier-bearing-new-f-body-carrier-bearing-for-v6-models-pn-s-3r80-40.html ) - for reference...
You could also check a junk yard for a 1pc oem shaft (most shafts there are bent or have bad uj's and will cost $$ to have fixed )

>when looking for an oem 1pc shaft you will find them in Steel and Aluminum. Slight differences in length when measuring center to center of the universal joints ( 40 7/8" - 40 1/2" ) - but the slip yokes vary in length, weighted / non-weighted..etc = this will make it appear the the shafts are different.
>>watch out for oem shafts with the weighted slip yoke from manual 6spd v8 models. This slip yoke may hit the trans/exhaust mount that is used on v6 models.!!

You need a heavy press to replace the bearing so they can be done at home. Remove the carrier from the banjo housing and have a machine shop replace the pinion bearings and carriers bearings

it is replaceable
normally it comes complete in the rubber mount
you will have to undo the drive shaft flange at the bearing
remove the drive shaft and take it to an accredited drive shaft repair shop or take the vehicle to an accredited drive line specialist shop
the repair will require that you place the flange back on the shaft after the bearing replacement in exactly the right position or you will get harmonic vibration after the job so talk with the experts first if you want to diy

I have been told my front wheel bearing is bad. Can replace the just bearing or do I have to replace the whole hub assembly.

the bearing and hub are peened as a assembly and will need to be pressed out of hub carrier on early 05. later models use a one piece bearing that will need to have hub pressed out, then bearing pressed out of carrier both bearings are avalable aftermarket

What are the bearings on the splined end of the rear axles (In the diff housing). 2000 suburban 1500 4wd w/8.6 rear. They both have caps on them w/2 bolts holding them on. Are they hard to replace.

Those are carrier side bearings. Usually they need to be pressed on to the carrier and on many, positioning is critical to avoid premature gear wear and failure. If those bearings fail, depending upon the level of failure, they will contaminate the gear lube and also damage the pair of bearings on the pinion gear, in which case the entire differential needs to be set up for proper clearances (basically rebuilt) which requires a fair level of knowledge and learned skills as well as a dial indicator. At that point, many times replacing the unit end to end with one from a scrapyard is cheaper and faster.
