SOURCE: reset the oil change in

BMW has a way to get you to their dealerships and this is one of them. They require a scan tool to reset these light and this should have been done when you had the oil changed but I have one way that might work on your vehichle so lets try this.

  • Sit inside the BMW, close the door and buckle the seat belt.

Hold down on the odometer reset button with your left hand. While continuing to hold it down, place the keys into the ignition and turn once to the accessory position.

  • 3

Continue holding the odometer reset button until the indicator light starts to flash and after a few seconds the word "Reset" will display.

  • 4

Release the odometer reset button. Then press and hold it once again.

  • 5

Release the odometer reset button again and five green LED lights will illuminate indicating the system has been reset.

  • Here is another way I found on the web that might work as well but I haven't tried it but it makes sense.

Let me know if you still need assistance after tryin these.

You don't have one. Most all late model vehicles now rely on a oil pan sensor to report oil level.

The handbook will detail how to check oil level in your particular vehicle.

What is the best oil to be placed in a bmw 523i 2006 ?

I always use Castrol Edge in mine. I like to service and change oil and filter every five thousand kilo....But I do live in a very dusty place.
I like Castrol oils if you prefer a different brand always go for the synthetic high performance oil formulated for the engine in your vehicle.

Can't find oil level stick in engine compartment 2006 bmw 525i Whould you tell me where is it?

The BMW 525I doesn't have a dip stick. The oil level is checked using the "i" menu. Select service status and from there you should choose "check engine oil level".
