SOURCE: I need a cadillac seville sts 1998 4.3L & 32

Try Item #1 first it is the easiest.
Then Check the small water pump belt, it is not the serpentine belt.
The next step is to either check the Block with the following block tester available from NAPA
The part number is 700-1006
or change the thermostat dealer cost about 60.00 AUTOZONE about 40.00 You will need to purchase the Gasket with which ever you purchase from.

I had written a detailed note and the system dropped it. I hope this helps. coolant system drawing is available from:

SOURCE: 1998 Cadillac Seville STS SERVICE ENGINE

Ok, bank 2 sensor 1 is the front one upstream sensor.--------- It's between the engine and the fire wall. it's pre catalitic converter. There is very little room. It's best to see and work on from drivers side fender.
----------------
Bank 2 Sensor 1 is on the driver side - follow the right side of the engine down the headers which attaches to the catalytic converter. The o2 Sensor you're asking about (Bank 2 Sensor 1) is before the Catalytic. The o2 Sensor after the Catalytic is Bank 2 Sensor 2. Bank 1 Sensor 1 is on the passenger side as well as Bank 1 Sensor 2.---------- --------- Approx cost for sensor only is near to 40$ and for replacing service charge by the mechanic will be more.--------The total cost will be under $100.------ To order the sensor, click the link below:-- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/08/o2-sensor-for-cadillac-seville.html --------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

1995 Lincoln Continental, passenger seat won't tilt back forward

YOU HAVE A SWITCH OR A TILT ACTUATOR MOTOR PROBLEM. LINCOLNS HAVE 5 OR 6 ELECTRIC MOTORS MOUNTED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF EACH FRONT SEAT WHICH REQUIRES REMOVING THE SEAT TO INSPECT .THEIR ARE ALSO CABLES ATTATCHED TO THESE MOTORS SO LISTEN WHEN YOU HIT THE TILT SWITCH DO YOU HEAR A MOTOR NOISE? IF YOU DO THEN YOU MAY HAVE A BAD CABLE.

98 lincoln town car key switch actuator rod

Fun job. I have done hundreds of those. WHY Ford put a steel pin in that cheap piece of plastic is beyond my comprehension. However, it has kept me employed :)

Anyway, did you remove the two T-30 TORX pins that go into the tilt head? They are what the tilt head pivots on.

If you have those out and it is still not coming off of the shaft. it is probably because the bearing cone is still in there.(under the spring and clip you removed) There is a stamped-steel ring that kind-of looks like a "top hat" that the spring seats on, then under that, there is a cone ring with a split that fits down into the upper bearing. (If you don't remove these, the harder you pull up on the tilt head, the tighter the cone ring will crush into the shaft and say "FORGET YOU! I AIN'T MOVIN'!!!")
These will come up and off of the shaft with a small screwdriver or pick. Then the tilt head will come off.

Then you are only halfway there. (I hope you have the column removed from the vehicle, because you will need to if you don't.) The column has to be COMPLETELY disassembled to get that !%#$ thing in there. The shaft has to ome out of the lower housing, the ignition switch, shift tube, shiftlock actuator and all that good stuff has to come off. Once all this is removed, you must fight the little pin that the lock pawl pivots on. It is pressed into the aluminum housing and can be a real bear to get out. (putting it back in is easy) Only after the lock pawl has been removed, will you be able to slide the ignition actuator up far enough to hook the little pin into the slot that it goes in. Then you have to get it all back together.

Good luck!

1987cadallic deville steeringwheel

Hi,

Usually, vehicles with tilt adjust steering, have a small lever just under the steering wheel column. Pulling this lever out, unlocks the wheel. Pushing lever back in, locks the wheel.

Have a look for a lever of this type and once you find it, have your Dad hold the steering wheel at his preferred position, then push the locking lever back up, to lock the wheel in place.

Let me know if you resolve this.....

Cheers,

How difficult is it to replace an alternator on a 2002 hyndai accent

Here's an illustration: Disconnect negative battery cable. remove radiator fan (next to alternator). Loosen upper alternator tension bolts & tilt/move toward engine to give slack to the drive belt. Remove drive belt & then remove lower alt mounting bolt & top tension/mounting bracket bolt. Disconnect alternator wiring/connections. Lift alternator out. Assembly is in reverse order of removal.

Car has Tilt Steering and has play, you can take the wheel and move it about an inch up, down, left, right. My buddy owns a shop looked at it and said it should be safe. He can't fix it until he comes...

The problem doesn't sound like it's in the tilt mechanism. The tilt mechanism wouldn't cause it to have side to side movement. Chack everything holding the steering column itself.

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee loredo. The engine has been rebuilt. Regular oil changes done. Has gas, air, & spark. While I was driving it just died. Gauges weren't coming up but battery was...

I just finishd a job that was simular to this. It was the cable that ran from the ignition switch to the shifter, This wasn't the problem , but led to it. It had tilt steering . It would just go dead and not start, no guages. When I messed with the tilt it would intermmitantly come on and off. I traced it to wires that were up against the cable and had worn. It grounded out the ignition. I repaired the wires and moved them .. fixed. The tail light would not have anything to do with the ignition. It is a seperate issue, but it is the same. grounded out somewhere. Just a note... Wires tend to break at the plugs.

2003 Hyundia Elantra sun roof tilt open inop on right side

Ok Ken... there are two cables which run parallel between the sunroof motor gear. Seems to me one of those cables (the one that runs to the 'right') is damaged/stripped and is not raising the roof on that side. Remove the overhead map light assy & then remove the sunroof motor & inspect the cables.. bet you'll find the problem there.
