Question about Chevrolet Cars & Trucks
Tach and speedo will stop working out of the blue and when this happens truck feels like it is stuck in 3rd gear. 1997 chevy z71 has a 5.7 everything i read about has p0740 p0753 p0758 p0785 with p1860, but mine doesnt have this p1860 code. Any help would be great!
I think you have no power to transmission on terminal E
pink wire because it a common problems fuse trans 10amp blown or wire pink cut

The most likely cause of this condition may be a loss of voltage to the transmission on circuit 1020. This loss of power may be caused by an open in the ignition switch. This condition my also be the result of an incorrect installation of an aftermarket electronic device such as a remote starter or alarm system.

P0740 is TCC circuit malfunction P0753 is shift solenoid A circuit electrical P0758 is shift solenoid B P1406 is EGR pintle position and P01860 is TCC circuit.

PO740 IS TCC SOLENOID CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CONDITIONS.CHECK TRANSMISSION FUSE - PO753 IS A/T 1-2 SHIFT SOLENOID CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CONDITIONS.THE 1-2 SHIFT SOLENOID HAS FAILED - PO 758 IS A/T 2 -3 SHIFT SOLENOID CIRCUIT CONDITIONS. CHECK THE ERLS FUSE - PO1860 IS TCM PWM SOLENOID CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CONDITIONS.CHECK TRANSMISSION FUSE+ IGNITION FUSE.

not sure if this is the answer yet but i have the same problem with the same codes i work at an auto parts store and a few of the techs that are customers have lead me in the direction of changing the ignition switch, i am doing it today will let you know if it solves the problem

Tips for a great answer:
Two forward gears only
Gear missing or slipping
No upshift or slipping upshift
Non-First gear start
Refer to First Gear Range Only - No Upshift .
Refer to Third Gear Only .
Refer to Second/Third Gear Only or First/Fourth Gears Only .
Refer to Slips in First Gear .
Refer to Slipping or Harsh 1-2 Shift .
Refer to No 2-3 Shift or 2-3 Shift Slips, Rough or Hunting .
Refer to No 3-4 Shift, Slips or Rough 3-4 Shift .
Refer to No Part Throttle or Delayed Downshifts .
Refer to Second Gear Start .
