Service ride control

I first noticed that my air compressor for the ride control would cycle on alot then the dash warning (service ride control) comes on and I don't hear the comp. anymore then the light stopped and the comp. started again. now its back to just the light warning.

sandybay i have the same problem, i took it to a mechanic and he looked it over and said the only thing that needed to be changed out was my right rear shock at $800.00. i took it to the dealer and they agreed that it was only the right rear shock and they put in a new one and didnt charge me. so i went a week without the "service ride control" on and then it started to come on periodically and now i dont hear my pump anymore and the light is on all the time now. so go figure. im pretty tired of it but on the other hand thats the only issue with my 2004 yukon denali. im shaking my head as we speak!

The fuse is called RTD 30 amp under the hoodfuse box. That is for the Air Compressor.

Parts.com has the best price for:

Rear Suspension:
Shock W/auto level control - 1500 series

and under
electrical:
then ride control components
then compressor

I have a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali and I was told to replace the rear shocks, but a day later the light was still on. Now I'm being told that this is common in this vehicle model. I am confronted with the replacement of the RIDE CONTROL PUMP, MODULE and CONTROL ASSEMBLY ($1,082). I'm getting asecond opinion at the dealership.

Based on the info I've gathered,it's either a fuse, or a shock/strute with aircontrol that has gone bad and needs replacement. Personally, I would think if it was a fuse, you would not hear the compressor cycle on and off. The fuse is easy to change as it is in the fuse box under the hood. 30amps i think...My question is where can i get aftermarket shocks/struts with the air option for this truck cheap so I can change them myself?

Why does my 2005 cadillac escalade esv periodically show service ride control message. I replaced the air ride compressor a year ago. I still hear the compressor coming on and my mechanic said the s

If the warning light is coming on for more than a minute, it should be setting a trouble code in the body computer for the problem that is occuring at the time. You may want to have someone check the body computer for trouble codes next.
The compressor would run if the system looses air pressure or if a load is added to the truck.

Rear air shocks

In the underhood fues box or just disconnect the power to the compressor. You will have to live with a ride control warning light on though.

2003 Yukon Denali ready "service ride control". We have tested the compressor and it works fine..what could be the cause??

Sorry in advance...I am a female and don't know the exact automotive terms: I have a 2001 Yukon Denali.....I have the same problem and have for many months. I took it in a few times and the GMC Dealership finally told me that It's the ride air bags. In my case they are leaking. Its not the same safety airbags in the front dash to prevent injury...but these models have air bags under the truck that automatically adjust to level when weight shift...you might hear the occasional sound coming from the back while driving or when more people are in your Denali. To me it sounds like a power tool. The Service tech told me it's not harful nor will it damage anything, but it costs about $2000 to fix, because they have to replace the whole thing. He said you may notice the sound coming on from the airbags more often because of this..because the system is working harder to adjust the weight due to the leak/loss in air. So occasionally for about a year...the light comes on....but it has done nothing else.

I hope this helps.

My 2001 yukon denali is saying serevice ride control what does that mean?

Seems like a common problem with these trucks. I thought I was the only one. I just posted this comment for someone who has a 2003.....I'm not an expert and not sure how widespread the warning message can be, but in my personal case: I have a 2001 Yukon Denali.....I have the same problem and have for many months. Air suspension light came on I turned the car off light went off, then I noticed the rear end of my car was low. What could that be?

It is your air ride suspension. It could be the air bags, the sensors, compressor, wires and many other things. What I did was bought an after market coil spring suspension and converted it from the air ride suspension. The air ride is lovely but costly. It is hard to diagnose that air ride suspension without spending a lot more money then you want. I suggest getting an after market converter kit, but I would make sure it has the sensor plug so that your warning light on your dash goes out....otherwise it will be on forever!

Air ride

check for faulty load leveler valves for the rear suspension
the compressor should cut out when the pressure is attained and no suspension movement requires air

Just got a dash warning "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL."

On second thought I understand you meant the indicator said actually "service ride". This can apply to shocks, the air pump that levels the car, possible low tire and such. Again, a mechanic can read the exact problem with a diagnostic computer. Just keep on driving until you get tired of seeing the warning. Oh yes, the mechanic can reset the car computer and make the annoying warning go away.

Rear air ride shock over inflate and will not deflate

I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at the conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. Airbags and compressors are constantly having to be replaced. Also something alot of people don't know is that theses air suspensions are not meant to be in temperatures above 90 Degrees or below 40 Degrees. That is most of the world. The temperature will cause you to replace alot of bags. and typically when your replacing a bag you are going to have to replace the compressor to because the bag had a hole or small crack in it causing the compressor to over work and it will die. I posted the link below so you can take a look http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm I hope I was of some help Good Luck!!!
