Question about 2002 Dodge Stratus
I had my battery replaced and the next day while on a road trip from Vegas to CA the car was running a little rough - shifting onto gears (it an automatic) my Check Engine light came on as well as the Brake and Oil lights they flashed from bright to dim several times then the air condition and my radio went out, shortly after (within 5min) my car died while driving 75 mph. The new battery was shot - replaced it and had the altenator checked and passed at 2 different auto parts stores. Within 5 minutes of driving it the car - with the new battery and altenator reinstalled, the car died 3 times all while coming to a stop, however I was able to restart it. Any ideas what's going on? I have about 88,000 miles on it and the spark plugs were replaced about 6 months ago along with a coil?
I would say to have your egr valve checked. Sometimes in these Dodge brands they will get clogged and the air can't flow right. One way you can check if this is happening while driving is to watch your rpms. If they drop a bit then come back up I would assume that is the cause, although I don't remember the radio dying any time his has happened.
