SOURCE: Accelarating from 25 to 40 MPH - a "rattle" in exhaust system

Had my y-pipe replaced (bad cats) and the bolts at the y-pipe flange where it attaches to the exhaust manifolds started to get loose and I go tthe viberating (tinning) noise. Took it in the first time and they tightened everything up but it seems it's doing it again so I'm going to try to fix on my own. Just wondering how much of a pain it's going to be to get to the bolts and what size...

SOURCE: does it hurt to drive

It may help to state what engine you have. You truck doesnt have an Idle Air Control valve, so I dont know if I trust who "they" are. But "they" is wrong. You dont say what the complaint is? Sometimes you can clean the throttle valve and that may help. If not it may need a new throttle body.

SOURCE: if my 2004 chevy silverado oil pressure gage stays at 80 psi could this hurt the engine

I would want to know what the actual oil pressure is. The sending unit or the gauge on the dash could have failed.
There is a pressure relief valve to prevent oil pressure from going too high, but staying at 80psi would not be good for a long time.

MY OIL LIGHT ON IF I DRIVE IT COULD IT HURT MY MOTOR

STOP DRIVING IMMEDIATELY OR AS SOON AS YOU SAFELY CAN PULL OVER. YOU WILL DESTROY THE ENGINE WITHIN MILES. CHECK THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK WITH ENGINE OFF. IF THERE'S OIL IN IT. HAVE IT TOWED. IF THERE IS NO OIL ON DIP STICK ADD OIL TO FULL LINE AND START ENGINE. LOOK FOR LIGHT TO GO OFF, HOPEFULLY. LISTEN FOR KNOCKING AND LOOK FOR BLUE, WHITE OR GREY SMOKE FROM EXHAUST. LOOK FOR WET AREAS WHERE OIL MAYBE LEAKING OUT UNDER CAR OR OIL STAINS WHERE CAR IS USUALLY PARKED. HAVE A SHOP CHECK FOR ENGINE DAMAGE.

1997 chevy blazer.it makes a loud rattle noise under the car when it starts, then when you start moving it stops it also dosent have the power it use to have.and it feels like its not getting enough gas

Rattle noise could be the catalytic converter is
broken up inside. If it is broken up inside and you are
not getting a check engine light you don't have to replace it.
Check exhaust system for broken or rusted pipes or hangers.

If you do replace the CAT do not use an after market replacement.
They work for a month than you will get a check engine light.
Been there done that.
Use OEM part.

Loss of power, check On board computer for Trouble codes.
Could be fuel pump, fuel injectors, exhaust system, ignition system.

I have a 2005 golf fsi 2.0 tiptronic. The car makes a loud bang when slowing down only sometimes

Hi,
Are you able to tell me where the loud banging sound is coming from?
Also when this bang happens does the car react in anyway?
Let me know and we can try to get a solution sorted for you.
Thanks

It sounds like a broken motor mount.
It may be a "lost" motor mount screw / nut.

Symptom? It probably makes more noise/thump when you make a sharp turn to right or left.
Also when you "rev" the engine...

Hope this helps!

Engine light

you have a cloged cat converter, or an exhaust leak near the manifold... if you rev it at idle and it sounds loud check under car for loudness, if your driving and your going about 30 and it sounds like 90, its the cat converter, replace is the only fix for converters

I have a 328i 00 it's making a loud rumbling

You will have to check axles, wheel bearings, and also believe it or not, check you exhaust. Everytime you make a turn, you exhaust might be picking up off your frame, and when you are driving normal, it is riding on something. That is actually the case with my Dodge Dakota. Took forever for me to figure it out though. As far as the bearings go, you will have to jack the car up in the front, and grab the top and bottom of the tire, and try to wiggle it, if it moves, you may need a wheel bearing. Like you said as well, your axle could be the problem, the boot could have split, and lost all the grease, and got dirt in it. As you can see, there are a number of things that could arise from your such problem. Let me know if anymore info comes up, I would like to know. Good luck
