SOURCE: slow shifting

I would if I were you.....Use the new Dexron 6 transmission fluid, much better than what original was put in our vehicles. GM has a bulletin out on this.

Slow shift

I certainly would!
The BG synthetic transmission oil is your best bet as a refill fluid.
Insure it is compatible before purchasing service or fluid if you are doing yourself.
A vehicle this heavy should have a trans service every 60K...if you are using synthetic...every 30K if not.

Slow 1-2 shift

I service or change trans fluid on all vehicles, every 2 to 3 years
max, or they will fail for a fact

You do not flush a trans, too much work & lines are disturbed

Your asking for trouble removing coolant lines, flushing lets fine
debris into solenoids & changing all the fluid sometimes makes them slip, because you never changed the fluid every 25,000 or
3 years, max

(50 years experience & former trans shop owner)

May have to remove the valve body & clean, if the 1-2 shift
valve is sticking or a solenoid is bad

Your probably very close to bad news on that trans

8 years with no fluid change is a death sentence

2005 elantra 4cyl auto 110k ml. bang when shifting into third, higher the rpms bigger the bang

Front wheel drive tranny change is not easy or practical. Check the Torque converter lockup solenoid and the torque converter.

Chrysler 300M Transmission slow to engage when shifting from reverse to drive. this is the only problem

ther isn't anything anyone can do without driving this with a scanner hooked up to see if you have any codes and to see the data to see if anything is wrong.
This problem can be anything from a computer issue to a trans or engine issue. The problem will be internal to all the above mentioned. You could do a trans service and hope for the best but a diagnostic approach would be better

I have a 2003 navigator with 110k on it i changed the trands filter and trans oil but it shifts in to 1st gear at 4000rpms and after thats its fine till i slow down and the trans oil dissapearing with no...

It worked fine before? It's possible you didn't get the filter installed properly, is the sealing ring in place? Or, you could have jarred some crud loose when changed the filter. Do you have any idea how much fluid you got out of the trans, I usually measure the waste oil so I know about how much to put back in. Try shifting it manually through the gears a couple times sometimes that helps. If the fluid is not running on ground, the only other place it can go, is in the radiator. Good Luck!

Transmission wont shift after 40 mph sometimes it works find but when you slow down to 40mph it **** and the rpm stay up

I had the same problem, so I added "Trans X" from the auto store, and after a few miles the trans started shifting. Seems gunk get into the shifting mechanism. Also a trans service could be the problem. Should have a trans service every 30k. Keeps trans clean. Try it , it worked for me
