Question about 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse

1 Answer

I have a 2000 eclipse 2.4 auto rs. Car just shut off while driving. Scanned the mil and showed a code for the camshaft position sensor. Car owners father replaced the crankshaft position sensor (dunno why) and no start. Now I'm stuck with it. I can bridge power to the coils and it'll run but throws a p0300, random misfire. Without the bridged coil it won't start and now it shows P0335 for the crankshaft position sensor. Checked all wiring and everything is in order. Any suggestions?

If the code shows a cam position sensor then it is the cam position sensor and not the crank position sensor
get the car to an accredited service center before it cost more money from inexperienced interference

In the kit there are two sensor that look identical. The one for the crankshaft has a white paint mark on it near the bolt hole. Make sure that it is in the right location.

How many camshaft position sensors on my lincoln ls 2000 i replaced the left one and car starts fine but after giving it gas it shuts offs smooth dont notice until i see lights on panel

This is probably not the camshaft sensor so much as the CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. You may want to run the codes on the car and make sure of what it is returning. You can have this done at most auto parts stores, for free.

Why would a 2003 nissan occasionally not crank and after cranking stall out while driving?

if crank or cam sensor fails then it will cause hard time starting, shut off while driving, here are the fault codes--po340 is camshaft sensor. have car scanned at any auto parts place they will scan it for free. these two things will cause a problem code.

Camshaft Position Sensor

P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Bank 1 or Single Sensor

P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

The code P1684 is real easy. The computer is stating that the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.
