As listed in your owner's manual.

How to Reset the Engine Oil Life
System
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change
your engine oil and filter based on vehicle use.
Anytime your oil is changed, reset the system so it
can calculate when the next oil change is required.
If a situation occurs where you change the oil prior
to a change engine oil light or CHANGE ENGINE OIL
message being turned on, reset the system.
To reset the Engine Oil Life System, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal slowly
three times within five seconds.
3. Turn the key to LOCK.
If the light/message comes back on when you start
your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset.
Repeat the procedure.

In your owners manual there is a procedure listed for resetting thr oil change reminder/maintenance light. Some vehicles you turn key on..do not start it.. step on gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times... then key off. others haver u hold the trip odometer reset button when u turn key on.
It varies from manufacture to manufacturer.

Have a 2006 s80. Serviced last month. Got oil and filter changed. Check engine light came on a day before oil change. which it did last year and shut off after the oil change. This time it stayed on.

042 is brake position sensor code. That sensor is used primarily to cancel the cruise control but may also be used for abs, if your car is equipped. Can you get an odb scan to see why the check engine light is on? The engine light does not indicate oil changes, so something else is wrong. We need that code, which starts with P and has four digits after the P.

Change engine oil light on - oil was fine; Next day Battery light came on and stayed on and a/c didn't work. 4 hours later both lights came on but both went out and a/c worked. What's wrong?

You would need to have the dealer look into this, but you have a possible issue with the computerized instrument cluster is highly probable

Oil light blinking on 2005 vw gti

Check your owners manual for the procedure to reset the oil change indicator. Sounds like the oil was changed but the reminder was not reset.

I have a 1994 Firebird 3.4 that runs rough intermittently when warm.

I can't imagine anything being affected by changing the oil other than the valves in the heads. I assume you have good oil pressure hot or cold. I suppose you could be moving a wiring harness around when you take the oil filter off.
It would depend on if the rough running is mechanical or fuel or ignition related to say what to check first. I would have to figure out which area is affected first.
Something like a sensor or a dead miss on one cylinder could turn the check engine light on, but most fuel and mechanical issues will not do it on a car of that year.
If one of the coils was failing when the engine is hot, changing the oil should have no effect.

2005 mazda 3 2.3l that is burning oil (no leaks)

possibly the pcv but check if your cars exhaust smoke is blueish or white in color if it does and your car doesnt have an oil leak then sure its burning engine oil along with fuel, the piston rings is defective, since you replaced engine oil the additive that the owner has put with the oil to prevent blowby is gone thats why it starts burning oil.....
