Sounds like you have air in the coolant system.. did you bleed the system after you replaced all this?.. did you replace the thermostat? You might add a comment about why you replaced these things .. and how you know they were failing>

I think the radiator fan in my 1988 plymouth voyager has stopped working. Is there a fuse that can be replaced, if so where is it in the fuse panel. If not, what is the next best thing to check out before...

The thermostat is probably bad on your vehicle, these are cheap and easy to replace. It should be located under the gooseneck (where the top radiator hose goes to on the motor). The neck is usually held down by two bolts. Once you have that removed the thermostat sits inside of it. Here's a picture of one so you know what you're looking for

If you want to check the fuses, they should be located under the dash on the driver side or inside one of the door jams on the side of the dash. There should be a diagram labeling what each fuse is for. You can pull a fuse out (they're in there pretty good) and hold it up in the light to see if it's blown. If the little wire inside the fuse is split, then it's blown.

After the vehicle is running for an hour, the vehicle get hot and shut itself off.. After it cool down, it start up. We were told it might be in the steering column.

have you replaced yor thermostat? have you checked your radiator cooling fans to see if they are coming on while your car is heating up? when your temp. guage is halfway up your fan should come on. you can check fuses and relays in fuse box[black box under hood drivers side] check those to see if fuses are blown or if fan relays are coming on[ticking while engine heating up]radiator could need flushing out also, just narrow your search some by elimination. if you open radiator cap before you start engine, then start motor, let it warm up.look for circulation,,flow of fluid, bubbling, then thats a sign it's circulating, thermostat is good. no flow means that thermostat not opening, thats bad thermostat.replace the thermostat.if not that are fans coming on? when engine at mid range on temp. guage does fan come on? if not check fuses @ fan relay. if fan comes on ,it's good.check water pump pulley for wobbly pulley while motor not running, shake pulley back @ forth for play. any play in pulley means bad water pump. are the belts on? i went through everything i would look for myself. hope this finds your problem!!!!

Overheating problem with huundai elantr 1997

check the vehicle has plenty of coolant in, and check the fan is working once warm. then check the thermostat is working correctly. only way you can correctly do this is remove the thermostat, place in a bowl/jug nof boiling water, and see if it opens up when in the water, if it dosent move, replace thermostat. also check fan fuse

Put new heat thermostat in still wont get warm help

Did you get the right thermostat they have different thermostat you probably want one that will kick on soon so find one that is around 65-80 degrees. Or you might need to just check to see if you need more antifreeze this is usually the problem when it gets low the heater doesn't get warm but since you replaced your thermostat I believe your antifreeze may be to low.

How do I trouble shoot overheating on 1996 2.4 chevy cavalier The cooling fan does not turn when temp is above 195 degrees

check your fuses on your fan.the fuses are located on the drivers side of the dash you will need to open the door for you to access them. if there is a blown fuse replace it and see if this fixes your problem. if it does and you are still over heating turn the heat on full blast and see if the temp goes down if so than you need to replace the thermostat. if there are no fuses blown than you need to check the plug on the fan unit to make sure it has not come disconnected.

Thermostat was sticking. Fuel pump was turned off. Replaced thermostat and fuel pump. Now won't start because fuel pump is still off. What do I do to get fuel pump on again?

you may have blown the fuse for the fuel pump, check and replace it if it is.
If the fuse is good go over you work and check the plug connections make sure they are good and tight.

Yes, thermostat could be closed shut. Thermostats are pretty cheap and easy to replace. If the car has never had one replaced, I'd start there..
