I have a 1998 kia sportage wil crank over and will not start. no spark.

Sounds like the coil or possibly the electronic ignition, replace coil as this is the cheaper option. Check to see if your Kia then starts if it does allow the engine to run until at operational tempreture then shut off the engine allow 5 mins then try to restart if your Kia if it starts again without straining or being boosted via jumper cables problem solved. If by any chance you do replace the coil & your Kia still will not start the electronic ignition is the next step & that can be done yourself as long as you have the required tools & knowledge, if not a trained professional will be able to replace the electronic ignition but this will be very costly if it is the electronic ignition.

I hope this helps.

Hello, i need to replace the speedometer cable from my kia sportage 1997, would you please help me?

if you cannot get a service manual from a local library, you can get a year subscription to ALLDATA for about $25 and it will include very detailed shop instructions to fix everything. its the software most shops use for their techs.

I need a diagram for the seals for 4x4 Kia

you will need more than a diagram to do this you need to get a service manual book at the Library or buy a on-line subscription to all-data for your car. it's a www.alldatadiy.com it will give you instructions on how to test and repair replace seals and torque specifcations in order. If you are leaking oil at the front seal it will more than you might think when doing this job. let me know if you need anymore help. By copyright law I can't give you a picture of it however you might look at our manuals page to see if we have a manual for it here. Also you can go to the Dealer and they can Print one for you for free. Hope this helps.

Broken hood release cable. How can I open the hood manually?

The cable is held in place by a metal bracket. If it cam off the bracket it won't work.

Look behind the part you pull and you will see the wire and the outer part of the cable. The end of the outer part of the cable has a groove neer the end. This groove slides onto a slot that is located just behind the pull latch. Once you see it it will make since on how it should go.

You can also grab the outer part of the cable and pull the inner wire. If you can pull the wire almost out, then it is broken. But the chances of that are very low.
