My 1999 tyahoe hood latch and cable doesnt work how can iopen the hood

Have someone push down on hood and try to open ---- reach behind the lever and disconnect cable use a vise grip to pull cable if cable is broken---- than behind grille is latch look through grill and will need a metal hook to grab cable and pull cable towards grille and pull through cut cable cover back and pull cable back

The hood latch on my 1994 Chevy suburban will not allow my hood to close properly. When I close the hood down it just hits the latch which does not budge, the spring is still in place. How can I secure my...
lube the latch mechanism and with a screw driver try to lock the latch. if it latches then you need to loosen the latch and move it up. if it doesnt lock make sure where the cable pulls on the latch popped back in. if the lock where the cable is popped back in and it still wont latch it maybe worn out and needs replaced

The hood cable is not adjustable, you must have a defective cable or the latch is sticking under the hood.

My hood release cable has been pulled but doesnt release the hood latch. How do I get the hood open?
Tap on the hood while somebody else pulls the leaver, try pulling up on it to. If this does not work you will have to try to gain access to the hood latch and pull the leaver where the cable is attached to open the hood. The cable may be stretched or broke.

Hood release wont latch
replace hood release cable or lubricate the cable to free it up.
In the mean time, push the cable back in and see if that helps.

Release cable clicks, but hood wont rise high
Tap on hood should pop up, then lube latch.

Hood latch cable is broken on my 99 chev cavalier
is the latch from the interor car broken, or the locking mechenism to release the hood not working?

Either way its a simple fix just requires the hoot to be open.

Hood latch on my 1999 F-150 won't lock and hold hood in place. Safety catch works fine. Any ideas how to fix?
The spring for the latch return could be broken,or the cable may need to be pushed back in at the handle.

HOOD RELEASE CABLE CAME UNDONE AT THE LATCH ASSEMBLY. HOW DO I OPEN IT WITH OUT THE CABLE WORKING?
remove front grille then you have to fiddle about with the catch it is quite tedious but the only way or take to a dealrship

Hood release latch is broken
find the cable that is supposed to attach to the latch, and grab it with a pair of pliers or the like and pull.
