Gear boxes are supposed to change from 1st to second.
that is the nature of transmissions in that they change gear ratios as required by you or the transmission control module
so you will have to post again stating the reason you had to consider the transmission changes or the symptoms displayed in the fault codes that required the changes

I have a 94 Jaguar xj6. the transmission light is on. it shifts hard in maybe 1st and 2nd gear. I've changed the transmission ecu, transmission relay, and fuses that have to do with the gearbox.

Change the xmission fluid and filter. If that doesnt fix it, it could be the solenids, the soleniod pack, what evey they call it on a Jag.

2nd gear is a bit hard when it goes in.... 1st and 3rd are smooth

Change gearbox oil, your car might not have had this performed in 15 years. If the problem is still there, then the 2nd syncro is worn. Replacement isn't as bad as it sounds, but would need a weekend and a few tools. Might even be worth fitting new gearbox if you prefer not to open the gbox, look in a breakers yard.

Gearbox wont change 1st to 2nd without backing off

This car may have shifting solenoids inside the transmission Call up a noted trans shop to find out exactly before wasting money. The solenoids will not cost that much and labor is not all that bad for they are located righ under the trans pan inside
