SOURCE: Power sliding door won't close properly on 2005 Freestar

U will need to buy a can of spray white grease and clean and then lubricate all the tracks the door channels on as well as all the latches for the door, this will cure the issue in most cases, did allot of these while working at a Ford dealer.

SOURCE: 2001 Chevy s10 door won't latch

you need to remove the door trim. Remove linkage attached to latch. Usually the latch will be secured with 3-4 large phillips or torx screws. Remove old latch and reverse procedure to install new latch

Go to and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

I have a 2010 f150 the dome lights will not shut off ever

Dome lamps operate from door latches. Most common problem is drivers door latch switch. The switch is built into the latch assembly and is accessed by removing door panel. Try spraying WD 40 into latch assembly and opening/closing door several times to see if this corrects the problem. If a 2 door with side opening doors to rear, possible broken wiring to the swing door where it meets the body

My back drivers side door wont close

Check the latch in the door, some times they will go back closed. to fix, grab a screw driver or something simular and put it where the latch is in the door, it will look as if there is a shallow hole. that is where the bolt or bar in the body goes to keep the door shut. anyway put the screw driver there and apply pressure away from the outside of the door and lift the door handle. this will let the latch release and you can push it all the way open.

How do you find the latch to open the gas tank to fill it?

The HHR does not have a latch release like many other cars. All you need to do is push the fill door in and it will "pop" out so you can open it completely. When you close the door, push it firmly and it will snap flush.

Rear door won't stay shut

Check the latch mechanism on the door. There is a piece of the latch that closes around the clasp on the door frame. sometimes this closes when the door is open and you can't shut the door. Take a screw driver and flip this latch piece open and close the door.

open the handle like you are trying to open the door, then get a screwdriver, and flip the latch back to open. It is stuck in the shut position. Hurry before it rains.

1998 Lincoln Cont., Drivers Door ajar light will not go off

this sounds stupid, but i had the same problem with my mk8. and it fixed it. open the door and look at the door lockimg latch on the door frame. pull on the door handle numerous times as you spray some silicone lubricant in and around all the mechanism. This will free up the pin switch that is activated by a cam on the door latching mechanism. I fixed mine 6 months ago and have had no problems since.

HHR back hatch problem

There is a small hook on the right(driver side) of the latch that you can push with a screwdriver (it is hard to see you have to poke around a little)after you take the panel plug out of the rear door cover.I have the same problem I found that that the coil has become week and it does not have enough power to push the lath open. GOOD LUCK
