How much oil is it using ?
Some newer engines go thru a quart pretty quick.
But that said, there are only about 3ways to lose oil - a leak, burning it or someone draining it.

SOURCE: car loses oil checked under car no leak checked

Normal oil consumption for a car is about 1 quart per 3,000miles. If you can calculate how much of a quart low you are per oil change you will be able to tell whether your oil consumption is excessive or not.

SOURCE: i did a oil change on my 1994 gmc suburban w/5.7L

OK, does it appear that the oil pressure sensor is leaking through the plastic to metal seam (on the sensor itself)?

Have had an oil pressure sending unit go bad and leak on a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais that needed to be replaced.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION C1500 Suburban 1994

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the engine oil.
  2. Disconnect the sensor electrical lead and unscrew the sensor. The sensor can be found on the top side of the engine, near the distributor. To install:
  3. Coat the first two or three threads with sealer. Install the sensor and tighten until snug. Engage the electrical lead.
  4. Connect the battery cable and fill the engine with oil.

SOURCE: burning too much oil

Actually, AAA says that if you lose or burn 1 quart of oil per 1000 mi. of travel, this is normal.

Oil can pass by the rings and burn off in even moderately used engines.

Hope this clarifies things.

Is it too cold at 0 degrees to figure out the real problem?

There may be water in the gas tank. If there is, then a complete fuel system flush is in order and replace the fuel filter. Make sure the engine is warmed up some before you try to start it. Oil doesn't move well inside the engine at that temperature. A block heater and a battery heater , if you don't already have them , should be used.

2007 Yukon xl denali burning oil

If you smell burning oil, you may have a leak in the engine compartment reaching the exhaust manifold and burning on contact. The most common cause for that is leaking valve cover gaskets. If you are losing oil with NO signs of external leaks, the engine may be burning it internally. Valve stem oil seals, worn piston rings, blown/leaking head gasket are a few causes of that.

2011 G'ma Terrain clock will not hold the time now that it has been reset for the time change. Any solutions?

I have had these same issues with my 2011 Terrain. I just read on the equinoxforum.net that there is a softwear update/upgrade (# PIO285) available. It is supposed to fix these problems. It is recommended that you take your vehicle to a GM dealer with this information. I am taking mine next week. Good Luck!
