Question about 2005 Kia Sedona

I have a 2005 Kia Sedona. The power locks will only work when the car is running. They don't work at all when the car is turned off. How can I get the locks to work when the car is off?

Hi Angel Hamilton, I am not sure on this one but would recommend getting the vehicle's battery checked as well as the alternator. Suspect the battery is low in charge and is not providing enough power to work the power locks unless the alternator is running (engine running fan belt running alternator ).
Maybe you could add comments to the comments section to let us know if the battery is ok.

Look on your dash on the ride side of your radio, there are 4 black squares, the botton three are usually blank, the top one says RR HTR, push that one in. If the heat does not work than join the club, mine has only blown warm heat in the last 2 years. I've had the rad flushed and all the rear lines replaced.

the car will not start if the immo light is not lit. sometimes turning the key back and forth or removing it and locking then unlocking the car can sometimes remedy this.

You don't say whether your Kia has autolamps but if so, the auto light control circuit could be defective.
With DRL, the resistor, unit, or relay could be defective.

2002 Kia Sedona. Power windows, power locks, dash & dome lights, and this time taillights, stopped working. Happened a few times. Then will start working again. Checked fuses all good. What to do?

There is a BCM computer ( body control module) that runs all this.

Take the door panels of , Check for loose wires , Or a break in a wire , Check that there is power going to the motors,Check that the motors are good, ,If the motors a are good end get power to them. The switch is probally shot, Or a defective relay,

You have a defective door lock actuator motor, more then likey water has gotten into it from a torn weather seal boot. Remove the door panel and replace it.

it sounds like you may have a door switch going bad or in need to adjustment, the car thinks the door is ajar and then cycles the locks. the hard part may be to figure out which switch is making it act up.
